In the Gyanvapi Masjid case, the Varanasi court dismissed

the Muslim side's plea questioning the maintainability of the suit filed by

five women of the Hindu faith. Their petition will be heard on September 22. Five Hindu women had filed petitions seeking the right to worship Maa Shringar Gauri on the outer wall of the mosque complex located next to

the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Uttar Pradesh.

The dismissal by district judge A K Vishvesh means that the civil suits will be heard in detail and examination of evidence will follow.

The committee argued that the Places of Worship Act-which states that the religious character of any place of worship as it existed on August 15, 1947, must be maintained-barred the changing of the character of the mosque.

Regarding the applicability of the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991 as a bar to the suit filed by the Hindu women worshippers, the Court specifically held that since the Hindu deities were worshipped inside the masjid complex even after August 15, 1947 (which is the cut off date provided under the Places of Worship Act), therefore, this act will have no applicability here in this case.

While the Hindu side said the mosque was built on the site of a temple, the Muslim side said the mosque was built on waqf premises and that the

Places of Worship Act barred changing its character.

Earlier, a lower court had ordered a videographic survey of the complex. The survey work was completed on May 16 and the report was presented in the court on May 19. The Hindu side had claimed in the lower court that a Shivling was found during the videographic survey of the Gyanvapi mosque-Shringar Gauri complex but it was contested by the Muslim side.

The Supreme Court on May 20 transferred the case from a civil judge (senior division) to a distric

Protests against the new recruitment scheme in armed forces, Agneepath, spread across several states in the country. Trains went up in flames, and public and private vehicles attacked, as railway stations and highways turned into battleground in many states on Friday.

The 24 year-old Rakesh, an Army aspirant from Warangal, is the first person to have died in the violent protests.

Assurances by the government and the chiefs of the Armed forces have failed to cut ice with hordes of angry youth.

The Railways cancelled 234 trains while 340 trains have been affected due to the protests.

Coaches of seven trains have so far been set ablaze by protesters.

Besides targeting railway properties, the protesters attacked the house of Bihar Deputy CM Renu Devi and the car of a BJP MLA in Bihar. State BJP president Sanjay Jaiswal's residence in Bettiah town was also vandalised.

Internet services have been suspended in 12 of Bihar's 38 districts to check the spread of false news.

Similar flags that emerged during Red Fort siege: In a shocking incident, the flags of the separatist Khalistan movement were found tied to the boundary wall and gate of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly in Dharamshala today.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nipun Jindal confirmed the incident. He said that the police are scanning the nearby areas' CCTV footage to nab the culprits.

"Some miscreants had put up five to six Khalistani flags on the outer gate of the state legislative Assembly at Tapivan and had written Khalistan Zindabad slogans on the wall. The flags have been removed and the writings have been cleared. Police have registered a case and an investigation is in progress," he said.

The police said it looked like an act of some tourists from Punjab and that

a case will be registered in the matter.

The winter session is held in Dharamsala every year. The entire government, including the Chief Minister, moves here from Shimla every year.

Khalistani elements claim parts of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, which formed part of Greater Punjab till 1966, as part of 'Khalistan', an idea supported by ISI-backed separatists. They want to 'liberate' Himachal Pradesh and Haryana and 'merge' into 'Khalistan'.

In a monumental decision on the lines of NEP 2020, the University Grants Commission (UGC) announced that from the upcoming academic session students will be allowed to take up two completely different full-time courses simultaneously in physical mode, online mode or a combination in either the same or different university as per their will.

Earlier the commission only allowed a combination of a regular degree with an online or diploma course if a student wanted to obtain additional skills and ualifications.

The new guidelines will be applicable to almost all academic programmes available across the nation. As per the guidelines students can opt for a combination of two undergraduate (UG) degrees, two postgraduate (PG) degrees, a diploma with either a UG or PG degree.

The students who are eligible for a master's programme will also be free to apply for a bachelor's programme even from a different domain.

UGC chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar said, "As announced in the NEP 2020 and in order to allow students to acquire multiple skills, UGC is coming up with new guidelines to allow a candidate to pursue two-degree programmes in physical mode simultaneously. The degrees can either be pursued from the same or different universities." He added, "Universities will have the flexibility to decide if they want to offer such a scheme of programmes or not. The guidelines will only be applicable to lecture-based courses, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma programmes. MPhil and PhD programmes will not fall under the same scheme."

With the announcement of the new guidelines, students will be able to study different courses from completely different spheres including science, humanities, finance and a wide range of disciplines.

However, implementing these guidelines is optional for universities and the admission process will remain the same as per the existing norms laid down by UGC.

What do you think, who is right..???
A judge from Uttar Pradesh was suspended by the Allahabad High Court for allegedly obstructing the authorities from occupying his land.

Additional District and Sessions Judge of Sultanpur, Manoj Kumar Shukla was suspended with effect from April 3, 2022 after he was seen lying in front of an excavator to protect his ancestral land.

"I am a law officer, this is my ancestral land which is being occupied, this is wrong, the acquisition of the land in 2013 is against the rules. The DM's order is a corrupt order," said the ADJ

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached eight land parcels in Alibaug and a flat in Mumbai's Dadar suburb linked to Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut and his family under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), agency sources said on Tuesday.

According to news agency PTI, the agency issued a provisional attachment under the PMLA to freeze the land parcels (plots) and flat. The attachment is linked to a money-laundering investigation linked to a ₹1,034 crore worth land 'scam' related to the re-development of a 'chawl' in Mumbai, the report added.

ED officials probing the Rs 1,034-crore Patra Chawl land scam case had found in February that Pravin Raut had paid Rs 55 lakh from the proceeds of crime through his wife's account to Varsha. ED also said that hotel accommodation and tickets were booked for domestic as well as international travel of Sanjay Raut and people associated with him.

"... I'm not the one who will get scared. Seize my property, shoot me, or send me to jail. Sanjay Raut is Balasaheb Thackeray's follower and a Shiv Sainik, he will fight and expose everyone. I'm not one to stay quiet, let them dance. The truth will prevail," Raut told reporters.

A lover's spat turned into an all-out brawl after a food delivery executive intervened and soundly thrashed the girl in full public glare in Odisha's Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

According to reports, the girl got into a heated argument with her

boyfriend after coming out of Indira Gandhi Park. The video shows her

verbally and physically abusing her boyfriend, and even throwing a rock at

him.

As onlookers gathered at the spot and started recording the act on their mobile phones, the girl got further enraged, and even tried to sn**ch the phone of a passerby.

It was then that a food delivery executive tried to intervene and act as peacemaker to the bickering couple. When he objected to the expletives used by the girl, the latter got infuriated and started scolding him using foul language. It led to a heated exchange of words, with the girl abusing the delivery boy.

The delivery boy finally lost his cool and started beating her up. In the video, he can be seen shoving, punching and slapping her. Shocked bystanders eventually intervened and tried to cool things down. Neither the girl nor the delivery executive has filed a police complaint so far.
