Confused between ‘Disposed’ and ‘Dismissed’ in court orders? Let’s clear the air! ⚖️

In this video, I break down the key differences:

Dismissed: The court rejects or terminates your case often due to procedural errors or lack of merit. This can happen at any stage!

Disposed: The court has fully heard your case and reached a conclusion whether it’s accepted, rejected, or a partial order.

Think of ‘Disposed off’ as the bigger picture, with ‘Dismissed’ as just one part of it.

Petitioner and Plaintiff may sound similar, but they’re used in completely different legal contexts

A Plaintiff is the person who files a civil suit (like property disputes, recovery of money, injunctions).

A Petitioner is the one who files a petition (like writs, special leave petitions, or constitutional matters).

So basically—
Civil proceedings = Plaintiff
Petition-based proceedings = Petitioner

Small difference, big impact in law.

The Hidden Cost of “Cheap” Properties

Ever seen those viral videos promising 20-30% off on bank auction properties? Before you bid, you need to hear the legal reality. As a lawyer, I see people fall into these traps all the time.

Here’s why that “discount” might actually be a liability:
•Clouded Titles: Banks sell security interest, not necessarily a clean, guaranteed title.
•The Possession Battle: You might buy the house, but the tenant or previous owner refuses to leave—leading to years of eviction suits.
•Hidden Debts: Unpaid property taxes, society maintenance, and sewer charges? Those are now your problem.
•Auction Appeals: The entire process can be challenged in court, leaving you chasing a refund.

Don’t let a “clickbait” deal turn into a financial nightmare. Do your due diligence first! ⚖️

Can the police FORCE you to unlock your phone?
The legal answer might surprise you!

Your smartphone holds your entire life but what are your actual rights if law enforcement asks you to unlock it?

Here is what the law says:

✅ Biometrics (Fingerprint/Face ID): Police can use physical evidence like your fingerprint or face to unlock your device.

❌ Passcodes & PINs: Police cannot force you to reveal your password or PIN.

Why? Under the landmark Supreme Court ruling in Selvi vs. State of Karnataka, compelling someone to share information stored in their mind (like a password) violates the right against self incrimination, which is strictly protected under Article 20(3) of the Indian Constitution. ⚖️

Knowledge is power. Know your rights!
