Legal Aid Center The participation of the Panchayat representatives of the block is invited.

Established in 2004, the College has a students body named Legal Aid and Awareness Cell (LAAC), responsible to organize legal awareness camps regularly in the remote villages of the state. In these camps issues concerning the working of Panchayats are discussed and Panchayat members are educated about their duties and way of functioning. Participation in Lok Adalats and Legal Literacy Camps in remote villages is an integral part of practical training for law students.

We are pleased to share that Pro Bono Club, Law College Dehradun in collaboration with Legal Aid organised a Certification Course 2.0 on *THE NUANCES OF LEGAL AID AND ADR IN INDIA* on 4th May, 2024.

The event was graced by the presence of our Chief Guest Mr. Vikas Singh Senior Advocate, The Supreme Court of India Former President, Supreme Court Bar Association Former Additional Solicitor General, Govt. of India.

The Guest of Honour for the event was Mr. Sukrit Kapoor
Partner , King Stubb & Kasiva.

Greetings of the day,
On 1st May 2024, On the very occasion of Labour's day Pro Bono Club, Law College Dehradun in collaboration with Legal Aid Centre conducted a Door to Door campaign, in the local villages of the area.
The event was initiated in the benign presence of Prof (Dr.) Poonam Rawat, Principal, Law College Dehradun, Presiding Officer, Pro Bono Club & Dy. Director, Legal Aid Centre, and Asst. Prof. Abhiranjan Dixit, Faculty-in-charge, Pro Bono Club & Chairperson, Legal Aid Centre.
The campaign started from kwality construction site, Wherein Mr. Sudeep Chandra, Student Head PBC & President LAC, commenced by expressing appreciation to the workers. Following this, he provided an overview of the Pro Bono Club and it's schemes regarding welfare of Labour class.
The second session was conducted by Mr. Nehal Ray, Sr. Member, PBC and Vice president, LAC in the Pondha working site. During the session, he provided a comprehensive discussion on the topic of schemes initiated by the Indian Government for the working class. Further, Ms. Sneha Agarwal addressed the pertinent issues of irregular wages.
The third session was conducted in the agricultural field of Manduwala Village wherein the members of the Club interacted with the workers and acknowledged their grievances. Moreover, the interactive session was the integral part of the campaign.
The primary aim of the campaign was to educate the laborers on various legal issues and aware them about their rights.
A review meeting was called by Mr. Sudeep Chandra at 2 PM, during the meeting, suggestions were provided to enhance effectiveness of upcoming campaign. In conclusion, the event was a success.

The Pro-Bono Club and Legal Aid Centre organized an RTI Workshop and RTI application drafting competition ,The speaker of the event was Ms. Palak Gupta and gave the insight on the event furthering Mr. Virendrakumar M. Thakkar, Assistant Professor at G.B. Pant Engineering College, Ghurdauri, provided insights into the RTI Act, its sections, and Information Commissions' functions. A Q&A session and a 30-question test followed. After a break, an RTI drafting competition commenced.

The valedictory ceremony featured Chief Guest Mr. Yogesh Bhatt, Information Commissioner, Uttarakhand Information Commission, along with Dr. Abhishek Joshi, Executive Director, Uttaranchal University, Prof. (Dr.)Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University, Director of the Legal Aid Centre, LCD, and Nodal Officer of the Pro-Bono Club, Ministry of Law and Justice ; Prof. (Dr.) Poonam Rawat, Principal of Law College Dehradun, Deputy Director of the Legal Aid Centre, LCD, and Presiding Officer of the Pro-Bono Club, Ministry of Law and justice ; Prof. (Dr.) Radhey Shyam Jha, Head of the Department, Law; and Mr. Abhiranjan Dixit, Chairperson of the Legal Aid Centre and Faculty-in-charge of the Pro Bono Club, LCD.

Winners were announced by Prof.(Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna and the names of the winners are as followed :
1st - Aditi Srivastava
2nd - Amisha Bisht
3rd - Deepa Kumari
4th - Ananya Balodhi
5th - Anjani Pathak.

The event came to an end with the delivery of vote of thanks of thanks by Prof. (Dr.)Poonam Rawat, followed by the National Anthem.

We are glad to announce that the finals are here.
The preliminary round was a great success owing to participation of the students. The best of the best teams made it to the finals after a neck to neck competition and will now battle it out for the trophy and exciting cash prizes.
We would like to express our gratitude and thank all the participants for showing their zeal and enthusiasm for this event.
