Justice 𝘿𝙔 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙪𝙙 has been appointed as the 50th Chief Justice of India by the President. Justice Chandrachud will assume charge on November 9, 2022.

Justice Chandrachud would be the first 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙-𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 CJI. His father, Justice Y.V. Chandrachud, was the 16th Chief Justice of India and one of the longest serving ones.

He will assume his office about two years as Chief Justice until his retirement on November 11, 2024.

After undergoing several changes, the Tricolour was adopted as our national flag at a Congress Committee meeting in Karachi in 1931.
