He is a trustee of the Palkhivala Foundation, Chennai and a Director of the Nani Palkhivala Arbitration Centre, Chennai. He mainly practices at the Supreme Court and appears before various High Courts. He is the author of Commentary on the Constitution of India, Guide to Central Excise, Guide to Excise Procedures and has written over 250 articles in various newspapers and journals. He was the Edit
or-in-Chief of the 18th edition of Ramaiya’s Guide to the Companies Act and the Chief Editor of the forthcoming 12th edition of Kanga & Palkhivala’s Law and Practice of Income Tax. He is also the co-author of “The Courtroom Genius” with Soli J. Sorabjee and General Editor of the recently published “Essays & Reminiscences – A Festschrift in Honour of Nani A. He has appeared in a number of landmark cases in the Supreme Court relating to taxation and constitutional law and in an investment treaty arbitration at The Hague. He was a part-time faculty in taxation and commercial laws at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India and Institute of Company Secretaries of India besides being a visiting faculty at other management institutes and law schools. He has delivered guest lectures at Cambridge University, University of Cape Town. He continues to be a visiting faculty at the National Judicial Academy, Bhopal.
