Online classes are not only highly exclusive in general due to the non-availability of gadgets or internet connection for the larger student community, it adversely affects women students, for whom the experience of a campus life is not only intellectually rejuvenating, but also emancipating to a greater extent. Many students—across all genders—come from toxic households which does not let them focus and concentrate on studies. This has led to the dropping out of a large number of students, a majority of whom are women, especially those coming from marginalized communities. One of the testimonials by a student from the survey conducted by SFI AUD explicitly stated that they “live with very controlling parents and it's not easy to be able to go out and get some peace of mind.” They further stated that “Going out for college is the only way I can get some freedom without having to explain myself every day.”
When is the AUD administration going to respond to such issues of its student community, or take responsibility for the same? In some courses in the academic year 2020-2021, 22% of students have dropped out, a majority of them are those who voluntarily dropped out. What does the AUD administration have to say about this?
