If you want your parents in Canada permanently whether for emotional reasons or health concerns. Waiting for a lottery system in 2026 may not be the best strategy.

Forget the Canada PR lottery this year and know that you can keep you parents in Canada on a Super Visa for up to 7 years.

Under current Super Visa rules:

- Parents can receive up to a 5-year authorized stay per entry
- You can apply for an extension from inside Canada
- Properly managed, they can stay up to 7 years continuously
- No need to exit Canada just to “reset” their status

For elderly parents especially those with medical or mobility concerns avoiding repeated long-haul travel is extremely important.

Instead of waiting year after year for the Parents PR lottery to reopen, the Super Visa provides a structured, legal, and reliable pathway to keep your family together.

For those who are applying for Canada PR. You want to have the Permanent Residency to have a stable future where you know your kids in a good, safe environment, and you have a career that you love.

Now the constant changes in Express Entry feel like a gamble, and you’re tired of playing a game where the rules seem to change every week.

For a system that creates better chances for your PR application is your inside Canada or outside, apply in Saskatchewan’s "Occupation In-Demand" stream. It is not connected to Express Entry and does not need high English or French scores.

How you can do this is first by checking your NOC code and making sure that you are not in the province's ineligible-list.

Saskatchewan is looking for engineers, tech workers, and agri-experts right now.

But the important thing is not to just just apply to OID. If your profession needs professional licensing, you should get your professional licensing process started first before even applying to SINP. This greatly increases your chances for getting picked up in the draws for SINP.

Many applicants never get picked in the draws, or they get picked and get through the 1st stage of the application and unfortunately get refused later due to issues with a licensing. This is the reason why the province prefers applicants who already have their license when they're sitting in the pool.

As of January 2026, Saskatchewan has legally reserved 50% of all nominations for these specific sectors:

-Agriculture: Agricultural Representatives/Consultants (NOC 2123), Farm Supervisors (NOC 8252), and Agricultural Service Contractors.

- Healthcare: Medical Laboratory Technologists (NOC 3211), Medical Sonographers (NOC 3216), and Psychiatric Nurses.

- Skilled Trades: Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanics (NOC 7312), Automotive/Truck Mechanics (NOC 7321), and Industrial Mechanics (NOC 7311).

-Technology: Software Developers, IT Professionals, and specialized Tech Talent (Saskatchewan has a dedicated Tech Talent Pathway for 32 specific high-tech roles).

Share this with your friends who are looking for PR through SINP.

If your NOC code is eligible for Express Entry and your only issue is high English / IELTS score, you should stop stressing over English and start going after French. If you can get to an intermediate level in French, your PR is basically waiting for you going by the IRCC draws in the past 6 months.

Look at the recent data: Canada invited 8,500 people with scores as low as 400. Why? Because they had French. Not only this, you'll open yourself up to getting through PNP draws as well for French speakers. The important thing is that you don’t need to be perfect in French. You just need a CLB 7 score.

So, if you’re stuck in the mid-400s, stop fighting the English test and spend that energy on French for 6-9 months. It’s the single most effective way to skip the PR line in 2026.

OINP hack - Waiting for the Ontario PNP to send you an invite for nomination, but there's no nomination for months, there’s nothing worse than feeling stuck.

In that case, you should try this one thing that'll greatly increase your chances of getting picked withdraw your profile every 60 days and submit it again. What this does is that it keeps you at the top of their list of visible candidates.

Why this is useful is because Ontario has over 14,000 spots to fill this year in 2026, and they’re "headhunting" people directly from the pool. But their system often looks at the most recent entries first.

All this is provided you have a NOC code that's in-demand this year.

Below is a list of NOC codes that Ontario is focusing on this year:

Healthcare (Highest Priority): Registered Nurses (NOC 31301), Family Physicians (NOC 31102), Specialists in Surgery (NOC 31101), and Nurse Aides (NOC 33102).

Tech: Software Engineers (NOC 21231), Information Systems Specialists (NOC 21222), and Database Analysts (NOC 21223).

Education: Early Childhood Educators and Assistants (NOC 42202).

Finance & Admin: Accounting Technicians/Bookkeepers (NOC 12200) and Financial Advisors (NOC 11102).

Some journeys aren’t just about visas they are about heart, patience, and never giving up.

Our bond with this family started 4 years ago.

It wasn't easy the elder son faced refusals before we finally got his approval. We then shared the joy of getting visitor visas for the entire family. Today, the circle is complete! Despite a 2-year study gap after 12th, the younger son has received his Canada Study Visa.

Thanks to the family for trusting us through the highs and the lows.

If you are also facing refusals or have a gap in your studies, don’t lose hope. We don’t give up on you!

Russian work and PR opportunity - Russia and India have officially activated their Labor Mobility Pack, opening up a massive quota for over 70,000 Indian workers this year for Russia.

But the important thing you need to watch now is the April 15th Skilled Worker Visa launch.

Russia is not about manual labor anymore.

It's going to be a high-priority track for skilled workers in IT, Manufacturing, and Healthcare.

*And the biggest news is that you can apply for Permanent Residency in Russia within 30-day of landing there.*

While countries like Canada, UK, Australia, US are tightening their borders, its time for the Asian countries to attract skilled workers.

Don't let the word "Russia" bring up old stereotypes. The 2026 reality is a trillion-dollar economy with an 800,000-person shortage in manufacturing alone.

The shortage means that if you have a solid skill set, you will have more leverage here than you do in a crowded pool inother country. Just make sure you follow the two-stage digital process.

If anyone tells you to skip the online clearance and go on a tourist visa, walk away. This is a new opportunity built on legal, government-monitored channels. Use them to your advantage.

A couple of warnings:

Do not go through a tourist visa and "convert" it. This is digital and government-backed visa. Apply from your home country.

Secondly, stick to the major industrial hubs and official employer contracts vetted under the new mobility framework.

Lot of people ask this question that if you are in Canada, you have a job offer, your employer is willing to support you, but the employer is located in a major city like Toronto or Ottawa where there is no eligible immigration pilot program or low-wage LMIA is not allowed, what happens if your work is actually done in rural areas?

Many assume that working in a rural area makes them eligible for programs like RCIP.
That is not correct.

Immigration programs are based on the official location of your employment, not where you travel for work. Even if you perform duties in rural areas, you are still considered employed in the city where your employer is registered.

The only time eligibility can change is when your employer has multiple locations and officially transfers you to an eligible location .

Where you are employed matters more than where you work.

If you are an employer or foreign worker in major cities like Toronto, Ottawa, or Edmonton and you are planning to apply for a work permit based on a "Low-Wage" LMIA, you need to know that Low-wage LMIAs are still banned in any city with an unemployment rate of 6% or higher.

As part of the 5% target, the ESDC will not process low-wage LMIA's in cities where the local workforce is struggling with unemployment.

While cities like Vancouver and Montreal just saw their bans lifted because their unemployment rate has dropped, major hubs like Toronto, Ottawa and Edmonton remain frozen as of January 2026.

If your job offer is below the median wage and in a high-unemployment city, the LMIA application will be automatically refused. You must either change to a high-wage position or find an employer in a city below the 6% threshold.

I have provided a list of cities in the description where low wage LMIA's have resumed and cities that are still ineligible.

Low-wage LMIA resumed cities:
Halifax, NS

If you are amongst the 1000s of individuals currently in Canada who do not qualify for any immigration pathway and if you are out of status or facing a removal order, you will want to know how the PR on H&C grounds works.

Firstly, an H&C application is not a standard program; it is a request for an exception but it grants you direct PR. It allows the government to grant you Permanent Residency based on your unique circumstances, even if you are out of status or inadmissible.

Now remember that a strong H&C application rests on three things:

1. Establishment in Canada - how much you’ve integrated into Canada through work and volunteering;
2. Best Interests of the Child - how leaving would harm any children involved; and
3. Hardship - the severe difficulties you would face if returned to your home country.

The approval rate in this category has dropped recently as the government has generally reduced quotas for all categories. So it is no longer enough to just 'apply for H&C. You will need massive amounts of objective evidence to prove your unique hardship for any chances of approval.

Because this is a one-shot deal for many, make sure your 'hardship' is clearly documented, substantiated and proven.

International students in Canada whose permits are about to expire and don't see a clear path to PR, you need to hear this.

It’s time to look at New Zealand. Specifically, if you’re willing to go for your Master’s. Right now, New Zealand is the best country to pivot to because they are going to give Direct PR for Master’s graduates.

Under the new system, a Master’s degree gives you the full 6 points required for residency. You graduate and you qualify for PR.

But there is one critical rule: You must be in legal status in Canada to apply. New Zealand will not grant you a visa if you are currently out of status in your country of residence.

If you’ve already lost status, you must apply to restore it immediately or return to your home country to apply from there. Don't wait until it's too late.
