KIIT School of Law successfully organized the Inaugural Program of the DLSA Legal Aid Clinic on 20th February 2026, marking a significant step towards strengthening access to justice and legal awareness.
The program commenced with a Welcome Address by Dr. Pragyan Parimita Ray, Faculty Convenor, Legal Services Clinic, followed by a comprehensive presentation on the KIIT Legal Services Clinic by the KLSC Team, highlighting its initiatives and commitment to legal service.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the felicitation and inauguration of Prof. Faiz Ayat Ansari’s book, conducted by the Organizing Committee of the District Legal Services Authority, Khurda.
The gathering was further enriched by the addresses of Mr. Loknath Mohapatra, Director Legal Services; Prof. (Dr.) Raju K.D., Pro-Vice Chancellor; and Prof. Dr. N. L. Mitra, Professor Emeritus, who emphasized the vital role of legal aid institutions in ensuring equitable access to justice.
An insightful session on the POSH Act and gender-based violence was conducted by Ms. Manasi Parhi, focusing on legal safeguards and redressal mechanisms. Additionally, Ms. Amita Singh from Plan International unveiled IEC materials on child sexual abuse and discussed ongoing child protection interventions.
The program concluded with the formal inauguration of the Legal Aid Clinic by Ms. Salomi Sahu, Secretary, DLSA, Khurda, followed by the Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Shashank Nande, marking the successful commencement of this important institutional initiative.
