We are delighted to introduce the next judge for the Final Rounds of the 7th NLIU-Singhania & Partners National Client Counselling Competition, 2025.

We are glad to welcome Mr. Siddharth R. Gupta, who is practicing at the Supreme Court of India. He has handled a wide range of matters including Real Estate, Education, Taxation, Service Law and Arbitration. Over the years, he has handled a wide range of matters including Real Estate, Education, Taxation, Service Law and Arbitration.

Mr. Gupta is also extensively involved into academic writing for the SCC-EBC group. He is the author of one of its own kind of summary of all the Constitution Bench Judgments of 2024 by the Supreme Court of India and the summary of landmark Constitutional Law Judgements of Supreme Court of India every year for the last three years. He is also one of the founding members of the CAN Foundation, PAN India initiative dedicated to making legal education and legal profession accessible to the financially challenged candidates undertaking law.

We are delighted to welcome Mr. Vikas Goel, who is currently a Senior Partner at Singhania & Partners LLP. With almost 27 years of experience, he leads one of the dispute resolution groups at the firm, specializing in Commercial Disputes and Infrastructure Arbitration. He has also been appearing before the Supreme Court of India, various appellate tribunals, and High Courts on several national, and international, arbitrations and litigation matters. He is a reputed name in corporate litigation, infrastructural arbitrations, and contractual/commercial disputes. ⁠We’re grateful to have him with us and trust that his contributions will provide valuable takeaways for the participants.

We are pleased to welcome Prof. (Dr.) Usha Tandon, who is currently the Vice-Chancellor of Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University, Prayagraj. She is a Professor of Environmental Law, Gender Justice, Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution, with teaching experience of more than three decades. Her book "Population Law in India” is the only one of its kind, exploring population issues from a legal perspective, and has been widely cited in India and abroad. She is also a member of coveted statutory bodies such as Legal Education Committee, Bar Council of India; General Body, National Judicial Academy; and Delhi State Legal Services Authority. ⁠It’s an honor to welcome her on board, and we hope her knowledge inspires meaningful learning for all participants.

We are delighted to welcome Prof. (Dr.) R Venkata Rao, who is currently the Vice-Chancellor of the India International University of Legal Education and Research, Goa. Prior to this, he had served as the Vice Chancellor of National Law School of India University, Bangalore. He has been awarded the Attorney General K. Parasaran Award in recognition of his Outstanding Scholarship in Legal Education by Capital Foundation Society, New Delhi. Furthermore, he is also a member of different committees in the Bar Council of India, and is associated with prestigious bodies like UPSC, State Service Commissions, UGC and NAAC among others. We’re delighted to have him join us and look forward to the participants gaining from his expertise and perspectives.

We are delighted to introduce the next panel of distinguished judges for the Semi-Final Rounds of the 7th NLIU - Singhania & Partners National Client Counselling Competition, 2025.

We are pleased to welcome Mr. Shashwat Sharma, a 2015 alumnus of the National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal. During his days at NLIU, he served as the Co-Convenor of the Moot Court Association. He is currently a Counsel at Trilegal. Prior to joining Trilegal, he spent almost five years with Nish*th Desai Associates. He has various publications in renowned journals and blogs such as The Chamber’s International Tax Journal, MNE Tax, and more.

Next, we are delighted to extend a warm welcome to Mr. Prateek Jain, a distinguished legal professional who has been serving as an Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India for over eight years. He has carved a niche for himself in corporate-commercial and tax matters. He actively also practices in the Madhya Pradesh High Court and Subordinate Courts at Bhopal, MP Madhyastha Arbitration Forum, NCLT, RERA and other tribunals in Madhya Pradesh, showcasing his versatility across multiple judicial forums.

We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to Ms. Gunjan Gupta, a distinguished 2006 alumna of the Institute of Law and Management Studies, Gurgaon. Ms. Gupta is a highly accomplished legal professional, registered as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi, and currently serves as a Partner at Singhania & Partners LLP. Her core expertise lies in the areas of corporate and commercial laws. She brings significant experience to vital legal processes, including due diligence exercises and developing effective entry strategies for foreign entities looking to establish a presence in India.

We are also honored to welcome Ms. Sabah Iqbal Siddiqui, an accomplished 2015 alumna of the Faculty of Law (CLC), University of Delhi. We are honoured to introduce the next distinguished panel of judges for the Preliminary Rounds of the 7th NLIU-Singhania & Partners National Client Counselling Competition, 2025.

We begin with Mr. Hrishikesh Prakash Jaiswal, also an alumnus of NLIU, Bhopal, who is presently an Associate with the Projects and Project Finance team at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Mumbai, and is enrolled with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa. During his time at NLIU, he distinguished himself through outstanding achievements in client counselling competitions, moot court competitions, and PIL drafting activities. His commitment to excellence was matched by his remarkable leadership qualities, most notably demonstrated in his tenure as the Convenor of the Sports Committee.

We are equally delighted to welcome Mr. Aditya Goyal, an alumnus of the NLIU, Bhopal, who currently serves as Manager (Legal) at Zelestra India. He commenced his legal career as an Associate at S&A Law Offices and subsequently worked with the Projects and Energy teams at JSA and AZB & Partners. With over four years of professional experience, he has advised a wide spectrum of clients on transactions involving solar, wind, and hybrid power projects, with a particular focus on EPC, O&M, and PPAs. His expertise further extends to road concessions, legislative policy, new and emerging technologies, and nuclear law.

We are also privileged to have Mr. Siddharth Sisodia, another alumnus of NLIU, who is currently an Associate in the General Corporate Practice at the Mumbai office of Khaitan & Co. He was a passionate debater and he excelled in some of the most prestigious debate tournaments across India and on international circuits. Beyond debating, he consistently brought laurels to NLIU through his exemplary performances in client counselling and moot court competitions.

We are delighted to announce the second panel of distinguished judges for the Preliminary Rounds of the 7th NLIU-Singhania & Partners National Client Counselling Competition, 2025.

First, we are joined by Mr. Gaurav Sharma, Principal Associate at Khaitan & Co., Delhi, where he is part of the Dispute Resolution team. He is an alumnus of the National Law Institute University, Bhopal, and has served as the Convenor of the Moot Court Association during his time at NLIU. Beyond his professional career, he is an avid basketball enthusiast and actively pursues the sport in his leisure time.

Next, we welcome Ms. Daliya Singh, Principal Associate at DMD Advocates and an alumna of the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun. She specializes in Indirect Tax Litigation and Dispute Resolution, with extensive experience handling matters before various courts and tax tribunals. Over the course of her career, she has also been associated with Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys, HSA Advocates, and Kamath & Kamath Advocates, Solicitors and Tax Consultants, among others.

Finally, we introduce Ms. Vrinda Pathak, Associate Partner at Singh & Singh Law Firm LLP and an alumna of the National Law University, Odisha, with an Honours Degree in Business and Law. Since 2017, she has been engaged in Intellectual Property law, working extensively on matters involving patents, trademarks, designs, copyright litigation, trademark prosecution, and advisory matters.

We are delighted to release the first panel of distinguished judges for the Preliminary Rounds of the 7th NLIU - Singhania & Partners National Client Counselling Competition, 2025.

First, we have Mr. Ujjwal Sharma. Mr. Ujjwal, an alumnus of O.P. Jindal Global University and King’s College London, is a Counsel and Arbitrator specializing in arbitration, commercial disputes, and intellectual property rights. With experience spanning India and the UK, he has handled high-value disputes, taught as visiting faculty for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination, and contributed to pro bono initiatives. Recognized with the Nyaya Bandhu Award, he continues to advance environmental and human rights awareness through his work with CREGG, which he founded.

Next, we have Ms. Bani Khera, a distinguished alumnus of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). Ms. Khera has embarked on a notable professional journey and currently holds the position of Legal Counsel at Zelestra India. Her core professional expertise is sharply focused on the nuanced and highly specialized areas of Commercial Real Estate and Property Law, where she brings a wealth of specialized knowledge and practical insight to handle both complex transactional and intricate advisory matters for the legal team.

Next, we are delighted to welcome Mr. Harshdeep Singh Bedi, a prominent alumnus of the esteemed National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal. Mr. Bedi has rapidly progressed in his professional career and currently holds the distinguished position of Senior Associate at S&R Associates. Reflecting a strong foundation and specialized interest developed during his academic years, he demonstrated considerable leadership by serving as the Co-Convenor for the Centre for Labour Laws at NLIU.

The NLIU Moot Court Association is delighted to announce that it has successfully conducted the 6th NLIU–Singhania & Partners National Client Counselling Competition, 2024, from 18th-20th October, 2024.

The competition was organized in collaboration with Singhania & Partners and saw participation from premier law schools nationwide.

The Final Rounds, conducted on 20th October, 2024, were judged by an illustrious panel comprising Hon’ble Mr. Justice J.K. Maheshwari, Judge at the Supreme Court of India; Hon’ble Mr. Justice Suresh Kumar Kait, the Chief Justice of High Court of Madhya Pradesh as well as the Chancellor of the National Law Institute University, Bhopal; Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vivek Agarwal, Judge at the High Court of Madhya Pradesh; Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vishal Dhagat, Judge at the High Court of Madhya Pradesh; and Mr. Ravi Singhania, Managing Partner, Singhania & Partners LLP.

We are elated to announce the esteemed panel of judges for the final rounds of the 6th edition of the NLIU-Singhania and Partners National Client Counselling Competition, 2024.

This year’s panel features distinguished legal luminaries who bring with them immense practical knowledge of the law. We are honoured to have Hon’ble Mr. Justice J.K. Maheshwari, a respected judge of the Supreme Court, whose profound insights into the law will significantly enrich the competition. Following him, we are privileged to welcome Hon’ble Mr. Justice Suresh Kumar Kait, the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

Next, we are delighted to include Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vishal Dhagat and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vivek Agarwal, both serving as sitting judges of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh.
