It is with immense pleasure that we announce the successful conclusion of the 7th edition of the NLIU-Khaitan & Co. Certificate Course on Corporate Laws!

We were honoured to have Mr. Vineet Shingal (Partner, Khaitan & Co.), Mrs. Shreya Dua (Partner, Khaitan & Co.) and Mr. Vivek Badkur (Associate, Khaitan & Co.) as the instructors for the course. This edition saw negotiations reach new heights with participants engrossed in the sessions. The nuanced insights into the intricacies of corporate law and the valuable experience and mentorship of the instructors enabled the participants to grasp concepts quickly and thoroughly enjoy the sessions. The learning experience through the uniquely structured course was impactful and left an indelible mark on the participants.

Campus Engagement Session | 7th NLIU-Khaitan & Co. Certificate Course on Corporate Laws 2024

The Centre for Business and Commercial Laws is pleased to announce conclude the last leg of the two-day NLIU-Khaitan & Co. Certificate Course on Corporate Laws with the Campus Engagement Session by the esteemed instructors of the course.

Scheduled for the 21st of April 2024, the session is set to occur from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and will see the presence of Mr. Vineet Shingal, Mrs. Shreya Dua and Mr. Anchit Oswal, partners at Khaitan & Co.

The instructors will provide in-depth insights into critical areas that are pivotal for success during campus placements and on what to anticipate during day zero in campus placements. Additionally, they will delve into the intricacies of interview preparation and a comprehensive discussion on proven strategies for achieving success in placements. Following this, participants can look forward to an engaging Q&A session.

7th NLIU-Khaitan & Co. Certificate Course on Corporate Laws 2024 | Session 2023 - 24

Starting the 7th edition of the annual NLIU-Khaitan & Co. Certificate Course on Corporate Laws with fervour and excitement, the Instructors began with their insightful sessions discussing the contours of the various kind of deal structures and the lifespan of a deal. The Instructors then expanded upon the intricacies of a share purchase agreement. To make matters more authentic, the participants were divided into teams of two led by each Instructor- both teams aiming to better the other in the negotiations of a hypothetical share purchase agreement to take place tomorrow.

The buyer-side and seller-side teams will meet tomorrow to begin the undoubtably intriguing negotiations led by experts in the industry, the Instructors of the course!

It is our absolute pleasure to introduce our next instructor of the 7th edition of the NLIU-Khaitan & Co. Certificate Course, Ms. Shreya Dua.

Ms. Dua is returning to her alma mater as a distinguished partner at the Mumbai office of Khaitan & Co., and specializes in Corporate M&A and Private Equity. With over 9 years of experience, she adeptly advises financial sponsors and corporate clients on a spectrum of transactions, spanning structuring, investment strategies, exits, and buyouts across diverse sectors such as tech, consumer, financial services, fintech, and emerging tech.

Her contributions to the Corporate, M&A, and Private Equity Practice Group are invaluable and she has represented and advised numerous clients, shaping impactful strategies for clients navigating Indian corporate landscapes. She is also an active member of the firm's specialist team which acts as a knowledge partner to the Digital Lenders' Association of India (DLAI) on all policy matters relating to the digital economy.

We are delighted to introduce our first instructor of the 7th edition of the NLIU-Khaitan & Co. Certificate Course, Mr. Vineet Shingal.

Mr. Shingal is an eminent corporate lawyer and a distinguished partner at the Mumbai office of Khaitan & Co. with a wealth of national and international expertise. His stellar track record spans across strategic acquisitions, private equity, and venture capital investments, alongside intricate corporate restructurings and foreign investment laws. His work also involves advising start-ups, particularly in the e-commerce realm.

A dual-qualified solicitor admitted to the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa and the Senior Courts of England & Wales, Mr. Shingal's prowess has garnered industry recognition, including accolades from LegalEra, ALB Asia, and Forbes Legitquest. It is with immense pleasure that we announce the successful conclusion of the 3rd edition of the NLIU-IndusLaw Certificate Courses!

We were honoured to have Mr. Ravi Dubey, Ms. Ranjana Adhikari and Mr. Sarthak Doshi as the instructors for the course. While the previous edition focused on the capital markets practice, this year we were delighted to have expanded the course to cover the ever-expanding TMT practice. The nuanced insights and valuable experience of the instructors enabled the participants to grasp concepts with ease and gave them a clear insight of the kind of practical and legal matters that arise in these practise areas. The course saw enthusiastic participation of the students inspired by the exceptional expertise of the instructors, making the learning experience both memorable and impactful.

It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome Mr. Ravi Dubey for the 3rd NLIU-IndusLaw Certificate Courses, 2024.

Mr. Ravi is a distinguished partner in the Capital Markets team at IndusLaw, bringing with him a wealth of experience in capital markets transactions. He has extensive experience in representing both underwriters and issuers and has led matters for domestic and international listings of equity, debt, and convertible securities, through public offers, as well as private placements by issuers in a wide range of industries.

An alumnus of the National Law Institute University, Bhopal, Mr. Ravi has played a pivotal role in some of the largest Indian transactions in the domestic and international capital markets offerings. His expertise includes various public offerings, qualified institutions placements, issuance of foreign currency bonds, high yield bonds and stake sales by promoters on stock exchanges. He was recently involved in advising the very first offer for sale in India through a qualified institutions placement.

Mr. Ravi's exceptional contributions have earned him numerous accolades such as the 'Next Generation Lawyer' in the Capital Markets practice by Legal500, 'Rising Star Lawyer' by Asialaw and 'Notable Practitioner' by IFLR 1000.

As a distinguished TMT Partner at IndusLaw, Ms. Ranjana’s expertise lies in advising clients on Media & Entertainment (including gaming) and IP, technology and ICL matters. She has been involved in many complex cross-border transactions including structuring and documentation for cross-border joint ventures, technology collaborations, international commercial contracts, licensing agreements etc.

Ms. Ranjana specialises in advising several new-media clients, broadcasting, digital rights, social media platforms and film companies. Notably, she also assists clients in implementing self-regulation policies for content-intensive business models and is integrally involved in domestic pre-litigation strategies, litigations, and international commercial arbitration matters in a range of sectors and industries including M&E.

Greetings from the Centre for Business and Commercial Laws (CBCL)!

We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with IndusLaw for the third edition of the NLIU-IndusLaw Certificate Courses, 2024.

Renowned for their expertise in various areas of law, IndusLaw advises a wide range of international and domestic clients and has consistently been recognised as one of the leading law firms in India. This year, the course will be divided into two parts - one on Capital Markets and the other on TMT laws.
