OINP just reopened β but the moment you get an invitation, the clock starts. Here is what most applicants don't know until it's too late.
The Ontario Workforce Priority Stream launched June 25, 2026. The e-Filing Portal is expected to reopen later this summer. When invitations go out, here is exactly what happens from Day 1.
The moment OINP issues your invitation, two deadlines start running at the same time:
Your deadline as the applicant:
- 17 calendar days from the date of invitation to submit your full application and pay
- You can prepare your application during those 17 days
- But you legally cannot submit until your employer submits their application first
Your employer's deadline:
- 14 calendar days from the date of invitation to submit their application for approval of the employment position
- This runs at the same time as your 17 days β not after
- If your employer misses Day 14, your application is automatically withdrawn
What happens if either deadline is missed:
- Your EOI is removed from the selection pool permanently
- That EOI cannot be reinstated
- Your employer must create and submit a brand new job offer
- You must register a new EOI and wait for a completely new invitation
What to do right now before you receive any invitation:
1. Tell your employer about the 14-day deadline today β not after you get invited
2. Make sure your employer has access to the OINP Employer Portal and knows how to submit
3. Prepare all your supporting documents now β you cannot start collecting after the invitation arrives
4. Keep your OINP account and email active and monitored at all times
5. Do not plan around using all 17 days β your employer must go first and they only have 14
DM us "OINP" and we'll walk you and your employer through exactly what needs to happen the moment an invitation is issued.
