It is with immense joy and pleasure the BAR Association Sopore welcomes the appointment of Justice Tashi Rabstan as new Chief Justice of J&K and Ladakh High Court. The BAR at this moment issues the congratulatory felicitations to the appointed dignatory who has worked incessantly for the upkeep of principles of justice and judicial code. It is true reward for the truthful work done over the years. The BAR looks forward to work with the Chief Justice and will be optimistic about any required future assistance or reference whenever the situation arises.

Sopore Court Acquits Accused in Cheque Bounce Case

Sopore:Chief Judicial Magistrate Aadil Banday decreed an acquittal order in a cheque bounce case titled Mohammed Maqbool Ganaie v. Abdul Majeed Hajam under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act in northern Kashmir’s Sopore on Thursday.

The accused, Abdul Majeed Hajam, was declared innocent and acquitted of all charges.

Speaking over the phone, Sameer Dar, advocate for the accused, revealed that the complainant failed to substantiate the enforceability of the legal debt as required by law.

The defense counsel successfully pleaded the case, leading to the acquittal.

*Advocate Sameer Dar* expressed his enthusiasm, noting that the factual details of the case consistently pointed towards the innocence of the accused from the outset.

The announcement of the verdict enlivened the atmosphere inside the Sopore Court, with widespread commendations for the efforts of the defense counsel.
