Places where Affidavit come into existence
Affidavit – what does it mean?
We have come across this term i.e. Affidavit at various point in our life and it is also useful for many different reasons. Affidavit is regarded as a legal document which includes of written statement of facts which are sworn too and signed by a deponent (i.e. one who makes oath in Writing such Affidavit) against Public Notary or any concerned judicial person or in simple language we can say that when you write affidavit at any point means that you swear a statement written in affidavit is true of your knowledge and in case it is false then judicial can take any legal action against you.
Places where Affidavit come into existence:
Many government firms or any legal government document (which is also called confidentially documents) when it is lost or damage and you need to get duplicate of the same at that time you will need to provide affidavit to process for duplicate documents which are provided by governments thereafter. Some of them are as included below:
1. Affidavit for Passport: Different Affidavits are to be submitted depending on the reasons for the same like submitting Proof of date of Birth for an illiterate applicants, Identity certificates for the government employees for undertaking their spouse and children up to the age or 18, affidavit for marriage to be included by married lady applying for passport, while changing first name, verification of certifications while applying for passport in TATKAAL scheme, Affidavit for lost passport in case you lost or damage your passport etc.
2. By any case if you are changing the first name then you need to provide the Affidavit for name change which also required to provide your first name or change information in Newspaper ad – this is needed for changing the name thereafter in various other government documents like voter card, aadhar card etc.
3. In case by any means you lost / damaged your confidential certificates or Mark sheet then in order to get duplicate mark sheet you need to first prepare an Affidavit for lost certificates / mark sheet / DL and signed by concern judicial person like Notary and then you can apply for duplicate certificates or mark sheets to the concern body.
4. PF Withdrawal Affidavit: If you are withdrawing your PF then it also need an affidavit in case your date of withdrawal elapses more than three years and you did not withdraw your money then in case for a PF authority to confirm your identity you need to produce the affidavit for the reason behind not withdrawing your PF.
5. Name Affidavit: Is use where person needs to provide his identity that all the names which he is using in any legal document are the same.
Hence, Affidavit is essential document needed to be submitted, when you want to get any confidential or government documents like voter cards, Aadhar card, marsheets, PF etc. in which you take an oath that the statement which you write in document is true to your knowledge.
