* Today is the Republic Day that means the day on which The Constitution of India came into force i.e on 26 January 1950.

* After independence the Constituent Assembly decided to have our own constitution.

* The constitution making committee was headed by Dr. B.R Ambedkar and he is known as the architect of constitution of India.

* Our Indian constitution is the world's largest constitution.

* It has 395 Articles, 25 Parts and 12 Schedules.

* It took 2 years 11 months and 18 days to complete.

* Ours is a written constitution.

* It was adopted on 26 November 1949 and that day is known as constitution day.

* Our constitution is the supreme Law of the Land .

According to Article 13 of our constitution, No Law can be a valid law if it does not come with in the frame work of our constitution.

* According to Article 375 No authority can go beyond constitution.

* Though Article 368 pave way to bring ammendment in constitution but without damaging the basic structure of it.

* Chapter 3 , Articles 12 to 35 talks about the fundamental rights of the citizens.

* Our constitution talks about the fundamental duties of the government and the citizens.

* As the duty of every citizen is to protect the santity of constitution so we must always look into the Laws which are being made in the country in the light of Article 13.

* Finally inorder to protect it , we must accept it whole heartedly, in order to accept it we must know it completely and for this purpose let's start understanding our Constitution day by day.
