Thousands of bonded laborers in India are living horrible lives with no rights whatsoever. Laborers, including women and children, get beaten, abused, overworked, underpaid, or stay unpaid as well. They get trapped as a whole family at times and while the parents make the bricks, the children are taught to flip the bricks. They cannot leave the site for months if not years at a time. Even to seek medical treatment. One might say that this is a rare occurrence. But that's not true. This is prevalent across India and continues to grow because there are few who know about it and even fewer who can stand against it.
