Criminal Case registered against shopkeeper for not accepting Rs 10 coins

Case is registered under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
A criminal case has been registered against a shopkeeper at Joura town in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh for allegedly refusing to accept Rs. 10 coins.

“We registered a case on complaint filed by a buyer who had offered 2 coins of Rs. 10 to buy a handkerchief, the shopkeeper refused to accept the coins,” said Joura Police Station in-charge Praveen Tripathi.

This incident took place last evening.

A charge under Section 188 of the IPC (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) was pressed against the shopkeeper.

Punishment under this section can extend up to 6 months in prison.

Following the reports that the shopkeepers were refusing to accept Rs. 10 coins, the District Collector had recently issued a circular stating – such a refusal would be considered disrespect to the Indian currency, Tripathi said.

आणी निकाल लागेपर्यंत आरोपी निर्दोष असतो. कोण चांगलं कोण वाईट हे ठरवण्याचे काम वकिलाचे नाही. वकिल हा फक्त त्याच्या अशिलाचा कायदेशीर कामासाठी प्रतिनीधी असतो.

वकिलांनी गुन्हेगारांच्या केसेस घेऊ नयेत अशा प्रकारची वक्तव्ये कायद्याबद्दलच अज्ञान दर्शवतो.
कोणावरही कोणताही गुन्हा दाखल करण अवघड नसतं. तो खरा की खोटा हे ठरवणं न्यायालयाचं आणी पोलीसांच काम आहे. वकिलाचं नाही
