GLS (I & R K Desai) Institute of Computer Applications (GLSICA) organized an Alumni Meet on 3rd October, 2015 at H.H. Auditorium, GLS. The function was presided over by Shri R. P. Soni, Campus Director (Computer Education), GLS.
The Alumni meet began with recitation of a verse in respect of Lord Ganesha. The Campus Director, in his address, welcomed the alumni members and requested them to share their experiences as to how they achieved all their goals, also about their ongoing projects as well as their future endeavors.
Mr Pratik Maniar, iOS developer encouraged the students and informed them about the opportunities and future in IT sector by referring to the Digital India Initiative of honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.
Mr Maitrey Trivedi, co-founder of Theta Techonolab talked about importance of having a vision to work and dedication towards the same. He added up to share his experience as bachelorite student that it’s the time to focus on creativity and try exploring new dimensions and taking risks.
Ms. Nirzari Parikh, Senior Technical Analyst, IIH Nordic gave a glimpse of her work as analyst and made the students aware of the technicalities in Data Mining Domain. Also she stated that the scope for career in the domain is very good and promising and cited few examples like Google Analytics, IOT etc.
Mr. Santosh Nair, owner Studio HeFring, shared his journey from studying computers to become a person of creativity. He added that its not necessary to restrict yourself just to programming or IT domain but to cross the boundaries of career fields try to integrating IT in other creative fields like designing, etc.
Alumni recall their good old college days, the lectures they attended and bunked, the friendships which they made and which grew stronger and the time spent in the institute during which they created memories of a life time.
To make the interaction more seamless, several games were organized in which the alumni participated and enjoyed. It was then followed by an exhilarating cultural performances by the students of FY and SY.
The Meet ended with dinner and promise to meet again.
