The Government of India is likely to put in place the Rules under the four Labour Codes before 01 April 2026 and has also suggested the State Governments to follow similar timelines.

Further, the digital platforms for various services like registrations, approvals, licenses, inspections, etc are being prepared and the existing portals like Shram Suvidha and Samadhaan are being revamped.

📢 *Labour Codes – Official Clarification by Union Labour Secretary*

Union Labour Secretary Vandana Gurnani has confirmed that although the Labour Codes have come into effect, the Central Rules are going through the final mandatory process:

🔹 Pre-publication of Rules will happen next week.
🔹 A 45-day comment period will be opened for all stakeholders.
🔹 After receiving comments, the Govt will require 30–45 days to examine suggestions and finalise the Rules.
🔹 This process is legally required before rules can be enforced fully.

*⏳ Expected timeline: 2.5 to 3 months*
Post this, the final Central Rules under all four Labour Codes will be officially notified.

It’s a common practice where if a holiday or weekly off falls between two leave days, it will also be counted as leave.

✨ Example:
If you take leave on Saturday 🗓️ and Monday 🗓️, and Sunday is your weekly off, then all 3 days (Sat, Sun & Mon) are marked as leave.

The Delhi High Court has directed Wipro to pay ₹2 lakh in damages to a former employee, stating that the remarks in his relieving letter were defamatory without any proof and harmed his professional reputation.

The court emphasized that such communication can have long-term consequences on an employee’s career and must be handled with care, accuracy, and fairness. You can’t assassinate someone’s character just because they’re leaving.”
