Good morning Lotus Family,
We want to give you an update on what is happening in the field of surrogacy worldwide.

In Georgia the Government has decided to ban surrogacy for non-citizens and starting from January 1 2024 they will not allow new surrogacy contracts to be signed. There is a big shortage of surrogates in Georgia and we have been helped by surrogates from Ukraine, since the waiting time for local surrogates usually takes up to 10 months.

Kazakhstan is a good option to also consider to have your surrogacy journey, though the bureaucracy is complicated and parents need to fly to Kazakhstan to sign the surrogate contract (also in case surrogate will be replaced), before they can start the program.

Ukraine remains, in our professional opinion, the best place for intended parents to go and do there surrogacy program. The western part of Ukraine is totally safe, and the war is not felt there. There are plenty of surrogates available in the western part of Ukraine, ready to start.
Unlike what some, self-proclaimed expert has mistakenly claimed, the Governments of Great Britain, Australia and the U.S. are fully supportive and supporting parents that engage in surrogacy in Ukraine.

UK, US and Australian embassies have decided that the emergency process that was required for them to do, is no longer necessary and the exit process including the baby receiving the passport, is now, exactly the way it was before the war, where American citizens travel to the American embassy in Ukraine, the Australian citizens travel to Warsaw to pick up the passport (we arrange the parents travel to Warsaw if the parents request this) all just like before the war nothing more or nothing less of this process has changed.

For UK and US citizens we can will send one of our employees to pick up the passport from the kiev on your behalf. The time parents have been staying in Ukraine following the baby’s birth is approximately 3-5 weeks for American & Australian parents and 6-8 weeks for British parents.

We, at Lotus, strongly discourage and recommend parents not to try a surrogacy journey in South America, whether that be Argentina, Columbia or what ever other country in South America someone might offer as those countries do not have surrogacy laws and can change any court decision that pretends to allow surrogacy, leaving you with lot of stress and problems registration of the newborn.

Remember one thing: Surrogacy is a legal process first and foremost, and you must only engage in it in a place that has a clear law and your rights are proteted.

About 80 Lotus babies have been born in Ukraine since Russia invaded on February 24 2022 and many of those parents have already signed up for a sibling journey.

April and May were busy months for us , we welcomed 12 new healthy Lotus babies to the world , all born in Ukraine.
These were the first babies that were conceived after the Russian invasion to Ukraine and we would like to thank the parents for trusting us and allowing Lotus to accompany them on their surrogacy journey.

Receiving the birth certificates for the babies took a little longer then expected, because of new regulations in Ukraine requiring a DNA test prior to the Ukraine government issuing a birth certificate, but we are happy that all the families that gave birth are back home now and only one family that gave birth in Mid May, will go home hopefully next week 🥳

Dear Lotus family!
Since the beginning of the Russian invasion to Ukraine the Lotus team has been busy taking care of our pregnancies, making sure that all our surrogates are safe and well taken care of, that the babies are born healthy and that parents are able to come in to Ukraine safely, pick up their babies and go back home in a safe and timely manner.

While all this was going on, we were working on 2 other missions:

One was continuing to do embryo transfers to surrogates, for intended parents that were comfortable continuing in Ukraine, with great success .
We have in Ukraine many pregnancies since the Russian invasion.

Second was finding alternative solutions for intended parents that were not comfortable with the idea of having to go through a surrogacy journey in Ukraine at this time.

We are happy to announce that we were able to create two alternatives, to surrogacy in Ukraine, all at the same high quality that you have gotten used to expect for Lotus.

The first one is in Kazakhstan, with a clinic that we have had a very successful working relationship with the medical staff for almost 10 years and we know them to be very professional and at a very high medical capability.

The good thing about Kazakhstan is that the surrogacy laws are similar to those in Ukraine, there are surrogates available for an immediate start of the program and the cost is similar to Ukraine. This is a program we highly recommend and we are sure you will be very happy with.
Asian are donors available and we can send your embryos from Ukraine or anywhere in the world to Kazakhstan.

The second program, takes place in Georgia and this one took alot of effort to plan because of the problems that intended parents have encountered in Georgia.

The first problem parents have in Georgia now is the long wait for a surrogate mother which is reported today, to be between 6 to 10 months. The second problem is the low success rate of embryo transfers. Our solution for these 2 problems is what we call "THE GEORGIA UKRAINE PROGRAM ":

With this program, we will be using Lotus Ukrainian surrogates. Surrogates will be screened and tested in Ukraine. Once doctor see that they are high quality surrogates, like you have been accustomed to receive from Lotus, they will travel to Georgia for immediate start of the surrogacy program which can start as soon as you are ready to start.

There is NO WAIT FOR A SURROGATE. Your embryos will be created in our partner clinic in Ukraine, with the same team that has been creating the highly successful Lotus embryos for many years, or will be sent from any place in the world to Georgia.

We will ship your embryos to Georgia where Dr Oxsana Sevostyanova, the head Doctor of our partner clinic in Ukraine . Doctor Sevoystyanova who has been responsible for many of the Lotus babies, will perform the embryo transfer and also prepare the surrogate for the embryo transfer.

We have put alot of effort in building these two new programs, in order to help you achieve your dream of becoming a parent to a healthy baby in the fastest safest and most affordable way possible.

We start our shipment list of biological materials to Kazakhstan and Georgia at a shared shipment cost, and would like you to join this shipment .
