Our Roger Murray S.C represents the family of the late Jemma Gardiner at inquest yesterday where a verdict of medical misadventure has been recorded at the inquest into her death. The 16-year-old suffered fatal brain injuries after surgery to relieve a build-up of fluid on her brain during a time when a pressure monitor provided "falsely reassuring” readings.

Jemma's mother Gillian said: “I was in such disbelief and all I could do was cry as I knew deep down that if Jemma pulled through, she would not be the same girl we all knew. https://callantansey.ie/medical-misadventure-verdict-over-mayo-teens-death/

Our Niamh Ni Mhurchu & Aoife Jade Bromley represented the family whose world was ‘turned upside down’ by death of beloved 21-month-old with Down Syndrome. The coroner recorded a narrative verdict at the inquest into the death of Nancy Coote Guilfoyle who died on October 1, 2023.

The mother of a 21-month-old girl with Down Syndrome said the family’s lives were “turned upside down” by her sudden death after her inquest recorded a narrative verdict.

Nancy Coote Guilfoyle died on October 1, 2023. Her mother Paula said the family, including Nancy’s two sisters, were left with “broken hearts”.

“We will never be the same again,” she told coroner John McNamara in Kilmallock.

“We wake up every morning with the brutal realisation that Nancy is gone and isn’t coming back. https://callantansey.ie/family-turned-upside-down-by-death-of-beloved-21-month-old-with-down-syndrome/
