Happy International Womens day to our Clients, Family and Friends.
We want to mark today by remembering an amazing woman, the incredible Ann Riordan who sadly passed away on Friday.
Ann was a true matriarch, an amazing mother, grandmother, sibling, friend and mentor to so many.
Ann set a historic precedent in the 1960s when she became the very first woman to break the State marriage ban on women returning to the workplace after they married when she returned to work.
Ann held many notorious positions including being headhunted to take up the position as General Manager in Microsoft Ireland and what a success she made of that and indeed every position she held both in industry and as a volunteer and what a legacy she left.
In her own words when speaking to the Irish Times she previously noted that while she held many senior managerial positions that would often be held by men she came across many gender biases including many times when ... "I would get callers asking to speak to the managing director after they had already been put through to me. They just heard the female voice and assumed I was the secretary,"
Everyone who knew Ann will fondly remember her ability to highlight peoples strengths and give them the confidence to be all they could be.
Today we remember Ann as one of the most influential businesswomen Ireland has ever had and for the unwaivering support she always gave to her family and friends.
May she rest in peace and fly with the Angels. Our deepest condolences to the Riordan and Kelly families.
