Last Thursday, Álvaro Blasco delivered a webinar on Spanish probate – considerations for Irish practitioners, offering valuable insights into the cross-border challenges and best practices when handling estates between Ireland and Spain.

DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS (DFA) & APOSTILLE

will be restarting their walk-in service from Monday 30th January from their office at 42-47 Lower Mount Street.

A couple of notes on this:

They are open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays. Their opening hours are 9.30am – 12.30pm, and 2.30pm – 3.30pm.
They will be closed for a walk-in service on Wednesdays to allow them to process bulk batches of documents and post.

Their Cork office is not open for the walk-in service.

They are operating a soft launch service this week. So, any walk-in’s will be accepted.

Their website will be updated to reflect the above.
A maximum of 5 documents can be processed at the counter.

More than 5 documents will be treated at the drop-off service, where they can return documents by collection / post. They will let the customer know when documents are ready for collection.

If large bundles of documents are broken into smaller bundles by the same organisation, these will be treated as drop-off bundles as above. For example, if 20 documents are broken into 4 groups of 5 by the same company.

Also, to note, they will begin rejecting documents that are not sealed correctly where a corner wafer is in place.

If you are binding documents with a staple please make sure that this is secured. Documents must be securely bound. Where staples are being used you must ensure that you cover the same so that they cannot be interfered with. There can be no “naked” staples.

Blasco Solicitors & Notary Public is a small and busy law practice located in Maynooth, Co. Kildare. We are currently seeking an Office Manager to join our team.

Role and Responsibilities:
• General administration of the office to ensure smooth daily operation
• Receptionist duties, including guest greeting, mailing, courier services and conference room management
• Provide assistance to Executive Director
• Supporting key legal projects as required from time to time.
• Supporting an Irish Notary Public.
• Other administrative duties as required by supervisor and senior management.

Preferred Requirements:
• Minimum 2-3 years relevant working experience in office administration role or similar function;
• Good interpersonal and communications skills;
• Strong sense of responsibility and flexibility, proactive and excellent team player;
• Self-motivated and well organised, with an ability to work independently under pressure;
• Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.); and
• Strong command of both written and spoken English.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple requests and good time management skills.
• Team player and fast learner.
• Fluent English.
• Knowledge of additional EU languages
