Criminology The mediator may take some notes on their notepad and on the flip-chart during session, this will ensure all key issues covered. This will also ensure that all issues are dealt with and no issues get left out. All notes taken during t

he session will be destroyed after the session. Mediation is a safe place where both parties can explain the underlying issues, it is really important that each party give the other space to tell their story, the parties shouldn't worry about getting annoyed, as the mediator will give both parties equal opportunities and time to talk about the issue later, to state their views, if either party hears anything which they would like to talk about when the other is speaking they can use the pen and paper which the mediator has provided, to jot them down, the mediator will get to each party in turn. the parties need to be respectful of each other, make an effort to listen, no name-calling or aggression towards the other party.
