🌧 Although it is raining and quite overcast in Limerick this morning....

🌼St Brigid's Day is the festival of fertility and marks the beginning of spring in Ireland.

🌱It signals an end to the darkness of winter and ushers in a new season of hope and growth.

😊Many a day on February 1st we would have spent in school making a St. Brigid's cross running home to our parents to display the fruits of our labour with our parents inspecting the cross and displaying it proudly on the wall for all to see.

As a director or secretary of a company, you will know that the company has to file an annual return with the CRO annually.

Failure to do so can mean loss of audit exemption and incurred financial penalties.

Under Section 343 of the Companies Act 2014, with legal representation you can apply for an extension of time to file your annual return to the District Court Office where the registered office of the company is situated.

The court may extend the time in which the annual return can be made, which is usually 28 days from the date of the court application being granted.

It is considered unlucky in Ireland to take down the Christmas tree and decorations before the twelfth day of Christmas (January 6th), a custom which is still recognised and practised by many.🎄

There were a number of other customs around Nollaig na mBan. On this day in some parts of the country, mothers rubbed the tail of a herring across the eyes of their children to give immunity against disease for the rest of the year.
Perhaps not a bad idea to consider for this year 😂😂!
