This week UL School of Law, the Courts Service and Law Modules Ireland collaborated and ran a very enjoyable Law Day event at Limerick Courthouse, Mulgrave Street. Professor Lucy Ann Buckley, head of School of Law UL, gave a taster law lecture on Equality Law, Dermot Hinchy from the Courts Service brought the students on a very informative tour of the Courthouse, holding cells, jury room, and Court room. A Mock Trial was held, Catherine Mc Loone practicing Barrister (Teaching Assistant UL), Kathleen Coll ( First Class Honours UL graduate and former Administrator in the School of Law) and Damian Clancy (PhD candidate UL ) panel members of Law Modules Ireland, ran the Mock Trial. Students attended from Engage in Education Limerick , Limerick Youth Services, Limerick Comhairle na nÓg and Ard Scoil Mhuire. Students were from Munster Schools to include Thomond Community College, Laurel Hill, Ardscoil Ris and Ardscoil Mhuire.
The Law Modules Ireland Mock Trial Perpetual Cup went to the winners of the advocacy Mock Trial - being Limerick Youth Services and Limerick Comhairle na nÓg.
