If an Assessment of Need (AON) is overdue, BKC Solicitors can act to seek compliance with the statutory process and protect a child’s legal rights.

There are currently significant numbers of people waiting for an Assessment of Need, and waiting lists continue to grow. While changes to the process have been proposed, there is still no clear timeline for reducing the backlog.

Waiting lists and proposed reforms do not override legal rights, and families are not required to wait where statutory timelines have not been met.

If you, or someone you know, is facing a situation where an Assessment of Need is overdue, BKC Solicitors can act immediately to enforce compliance with the law and protect a child’s rights.

There are now over 18,000 people waiting for an Assessment of Need, and the list continues to grow. While a “faster” AON process has been promised, there is still no timeline for reducing the backlog. The Minister has admitted that the changes “will take time” and “will not happen overnight by magic,” with legislation described as a future priority. Waiting lists and promises do not override legal rights, and families are not required to wait for reforms.
