📢 IMPORTANT UPDATE – FAMILY REUNIFICATION IN IRELAND

The Irish Government has introduced new financial requirements for Irish citizens sponsoring a spouse, civil partner, or de facto partner under Category A of the Family Reunification Policy.

From 12 June 2026, Irish sponsors must demonstrate gross earnings of at least €75,000 over the previous 3 years, replacing the previous €40,000 requirement.

Key points:

✅ Gross earnings of at least €75,000 over the previous 3 years

✅ Applies to spouses, civil partners, and de facto partners of Irish citizens

✅ Only the Irish sponsor’s income is considered

✅ The sponsor must not have been mainly reliant on State supports from the Irish State for a continuous period of two years or longer immediately prior to the application

✅ Applies to applications received on or after 12 June 2026

✅ Supporting financial evidence must be provided

If you’re planning a family reunification application, it’s important to understand how these changes may affect your eligibility.

At Move To Ireland Immigration Services, we’re here to help you navigate every step of the process.
