CIF Pension Fund and why we need to control it ourselves. The Pension Fund was an initiative created in the aftermath of the 1964 Building Strike for the 40 hour week.

It has always been in the hands of the CIF who ironically have done their best to diminish its contributions through bogus self-employment.

The pension stamp is key to regulating the wet trades.

There are irregularities surrounding how the pension funds are used which some of our union leadership is fully aware about and are silent.

Agencies are not paying all of their employees contributions, especially the more casual workers and less represented workers, and the unions are fully aware of this also, as the agencies do pay the union contributions.

Continuously ask about the pension contribution first and formost with ANY negotiation onsite.

The pension stamp is key to it all. Demanding your pension rights also demands PAYE employment, and demanding PAYE employment secures your pension rights.
