What’s it like inside a Garda Station?
Legal Index Ireland recently partnered with Peter Kelly Media Productions to create a number of short videos featuring solicitors and barristers and focusing on different areas of law.
We wanted to chronicle the most common issues that arise within each area of law.
We knew that video would convey this better than any other medium.
We set ourselves one task: would it be possible to bring solicitors and barristers together in one environment to speak about questions they are frequently asked by clients?
There was one condition: each video clip had to be a minute or less in length, so brevity and focus were essential.
To achieve the right setting, professional lighting and sound were provided by Peter Kelly. Authenticity was key so we asked Peter to prepare the questions on each topic for our speakers.
And there was one final caveat: we wanted to capture a "natural", "conversational" feel, so the speakers were not shown the questions in advance.
We think the results speak for themselves.
Over the next few weeks we'll be uploading videos on topics as diverse as coercive control in family law, on what to consider when it comes to making your Will, on why Cork is now (since Brexit) the second biggest English-speaking city in Europe (after Dublin) and one Barrister's experience of working on the Innocence Project in Wisconsin, USA.
