Israel has been killing Palestinians for years, imprisoning them without due process, stealing their lands, starving them and depriving them of basic human rights.

McEntee's statement is just that, a statement, just words. It doesnt change anything and the Israelis don't care what we say. They won't lose any sleep about our condemnation.

So perhaps now would be a good time to enact the Occupied Territories Act and for the EU to sanction Israel?

My piece in today’s looks at the serious questions raised by last weekend’s deportation and what it tells us about how the system is operating in Ireland.

Deportation is an administrative process — it is not a criminal punishment. That distinction matters. Human rights must be protected at every stage. Children must be safeguarded. And people facing removal should not be treated as part of the general criminal prison population.

A fair and humane immigration system is not a soft option — it is a necessary one in a republic that values dignity, proportionality and the rule of law.

So that's a wrap on our campaign! We were close to a seat but it didn't happen this time.

I had the most incredible experience meeting people throughout Cork North Central over the past few months. Thank you to everyone for the incredible chats on the doors!

I also had the most amazing team of people helping. It's not a big team but my God is everyone committed and talented! Thanks especially to Saoirse Mackin my campaign manager, Brian O'Kane CNC Branch Chair, Louise, Imelda, Annemarie, Shadiah, Catriona, Sam, Kevin and everyone else who volunteered!

I am so proud of the campaign we ran and so grateful for every single vote!!!

What an incredible last night of the campaign!

We got such a brilliant reception on Pope's Quay and Montenotte.

Thank you so much to my incredible team who have been so supportive and have worked so hard!

We've been all over the city, in Glanmire, Glounthaune, Watergrasshill and Little Island. We've met such incredible people who have shared such personal and moving stories with us. We've been offering refreshments and snacks by strangers. Thanks to everyone we've met in Cork North Central.

Please get out to vote tomorrow!!!

I started working as a solicitor in commercial law in 2012. It wasn't really for me as I always wanted to help people and take cases that would make a difference.

I moved onto the disability organisation, Inclusion Ireland in 2017 after completing a Masters in Human Rights. I couldn't believe how people with disabilities were being treated in this country and I felt that the political will to help carers and people with disabilities was completely lacking. My sister has an intellectual disability and I had seen how tough things could be growing up.

I decided to start my own legal practice and opened the doors on the Grand Parade in 2019. It was a tiny office with just me there answering phones and trying to take on as many discrimination cases and social housing cases as possible.

The need for this kind of law was so great that we expanded and now there are 6 amazing women working together trying to take as many cases as we can to improve the rights of people in Cork and around the Country.

I love what I do but I believe we need change at a national level. We need parties with the political will to really affect change to be elected to government.

This is why I chose to run with the Social Democrats. The party's policies are exactly what this country needs.

People need a change and a new approach. We need to strengthen communities. Ireland isn't a corporation, it's a Republic. The people should come first.

I'm asking for your vote tomorrow as I want to be part of the change that we need.

We had a great canvass in Ashmount and Silversprings.

People are fed up with housing and feel that they've been let down by consecutive governments. Public transport and child protection also came up on several doors.

Thanks to everyone we met for the great chats and to Kevin for the donuts!!

We had a great day in Cork with Catherine Murphy TD.

We visited the fantastic Cork Penny Dinners and saw the incredible work that Catriona Twomey and the team there have been doing in the local community.

Its a shame that more and more people need charities like Cork Penny Dinners but without it, people all around Cork would go hungry.

Its an absolutely indispensable service with an incredible team running it!

Polling day is Friday!

Vote Soc Dem, transfer Soc Dem!

The answer is 1.

Holly Cairns, the leader of the Social Democrats is the only female TD from County Cork currently elected.

There is a clear lack of female representation in Dail Eireann. We need to see more women elected because the makeup of our national parliament should reflect society.

Women are disproportionately affected by gender based violence/ domestic violence and they are more likely to be carers. Women were abused by the Madeleine orders. Women's health has been neglected. The cervical scandal is a case in point.

I am asking for you number 1 vote on the 29th of November because I will bring these issues to the top of the agenda.
