LMW as Host Organization for ACICIS Law Professional Practicum

Australia Consortium for In-Country Indonesian Studies (ACICIS) is an innovative, non-profit, national educational consortium that was established in 1994 to overcome the substantial academic, bureaucratic, and immigration impediments that had prevented Australian students from undertaking credited semester study at Indonesian universities. In 2018, ACICIS will pilot a new program, Law Professional Practicum (LPP) where for six weeks law students from Australia immerse themselves in the Indonesian legal system. The first two weeks consists of intensive Indonesian language instruction and English language lectures by local legal practitioners and experts in the field of law, followed by a four-week supervised practicum placement with a local or international legal firm, government authority or non-government organization (NGO).

LMW is honored to be part of this LPP program as Host Organization. LMW is excited to welcome students who will intern in our office and expose them to the practice of law in Indonesia. LMW believes that this program is a significant step in shedding a light on the understanding of Indonesia legal system to other countries especially to our neighboring country.

Industry placements cover a wide range of legal fields and sectors. Depending on the organisation and current programs, students can expect to be involved in a wide range of reporting, research, and editing tasks.
