Indonesia is updating its business classification system — KBLI 2020 is being replaced by KBLI 2025.

❗️The transition must be completed by June 18, 2026. For most companies, the update will happen automatically — but not for everyone.

PT PMA owners should pay special attention: if your existing KBLI code is split into several new ones, it may trigger additional investment requirements and amendments to your company’s Articles of Association.

If you run a business in Indonesia, it’s best to review your KBLI codes in advance and understand whether your company may be affected.

Flying to Bali soon? ✈️

There are a few things airlines check before boarding — and some travelers find out about them too late.

The 3 most important things:
✔️ Passport valid for at least 6 months
✔️ Correct visa or eligibility for VOA/eVOA
✔️ Return/onward ticket

❗️Especially the first three can actually prevent boarding.

The other points in the video — All Indonesia Arrival Card, insurance, and Bali tourist tax — usually won’t stop you from getting on the plane, but they can still create delays or extra stress after arrival.

A few quick checks before your flight can save you a lot of trouble later.

⚡️According to an official announcement from the Directorate General of Taxes, companies (corporate taxpayers) are allowed to file their 2025 annual corporate income tax return and make the required payments without penalties within an additional one-month grace period after the standard deadline.

Standard deadline:
April 30, 2026 (4 months after the end of the tax year)

Extended grace period:
Until May 30, 2026 (inclusive)

During this period:
• No late penalties or interest will be charged
• No tax collection letters (Surat Tagihan Pajak) will be issued

❗️This relief applies only to corporate taxpayers and covers:
• Filing the annual corporate income tax return
• Payment of Article 29 income tax
• Settlement of any outstanding tax liabilities

‼️If penalties have already been issued, the tax authorities are required to cancel them automatically.

Residents of Tabanan no longer need to travel to Denpasar to handle immigration matters — key services are now available locally.

A new immigration office has opened in the area and is already operating at full capacity.

At the moment, the office provides a core range of services:
• For Indonesian citizens — passport issuance and renewal
• For foreigners — extension of stay permits (visas)

The new office was opened in response to the growing number of foreign residents in the region. According to 2025 data, around 153,000 foreigners were living in Tabanan. Previously, most of them had to rely on immigration offices in Denpasar, which often led to congestion and long queues.

Now, the workload will be distributed across multiple offices, making the process faster and more convenient 👍

Authorities are also planning to open another branch in Klungkung.

On April 23, we hosted a webinar together with the Bali Tax Office (DJP Kanwil Bali) for Indonesian entrepreneurs — here are the key takeaways you should know 👇

The main question was:
Is the 0.5% tax rate still valid?

👉 Yes — but not always.

Many people assume it’s a permanent scheme, but in reality it has a time limit depending on your business type:
• PT — up to 3 years
• CV / firm / cooperative — up to 4 years
• individuals — up to 7 years

❗️Once this period ends, you automatically move to the standard tax rate.

Another important point:
not everyone is eligible for the 0.5% rate.

For example, consultants, lawyers, doctors, artists, and insurance agents must use the standard tax regime from the start.

👉 One of the most common mistakes is not tracking the deadline and continuing to apply the 0.5% rate after it expires — which can lead to penalties.

If you run a business in Indonesia, it’s worth checking your status now rather than dealing with issues later.

If you’d like help, feel free to reach out.
