An Exit Permit Only (EPO) in Indonesia is generally required when a foreign worker leaves Indonesia before their ITAS expires.

If the ITAS expires naturally, cancellation will generally occur automatically through Indonesia’s integrated immigration system.

However, employers should remember:

• EPO processing usually must happen before ITAS expiry;

• the foreign worker should still be in Indonesia; and

• Kemnaker work permit cancellation remains mandatory.

Incorrect cancellation procedures may create future immigration compliance issues.
