Which international school curriculum is right for your child? 📚✨

When shortlisting Hong Kong international schools, the curriculum framework shapes everything from daily classroom routines to future university pathways:

🧩 Montessori: Self-directed, hands-on learning with mixed-age classrooms and strong self-motivation (shoutout to IMS celebrating 25 years in HK!).

🌍 IB PYP: Inquiry-based, collaborative, and concept-driven across subject boundaries.

🇬🇧 🇺🇸 🇨🇦 National Frameworks: British, American, and Canadian programmes providing structured academic progressions.

The best curriculum is simply the one that aligns with your child’s natural learning style and your family's long-term goals.

🗓️ September to late October is the most critical window for Hong Kong international school admissions! 🏫 If you are targeting the 2027–28 academic year, waiting too long means risking placement on a long waiting list. ⏳

📌 Firm Application Deadlines: Key application windows for schools like ESF, Harrow, and CAIS open and close between September and late October.

🏛️ Peak Open Day Season: Now is the time to visit campuses, meet teachers, and explore language programs and school cultures firsthand.

🛂 Passport Quotas: Many international schools must maintain strict non-local student proportions (ranging from 70% to 90%), impacting seat availability.

🎂 Age Cut-Offs & Assessments: Entry requirements and assessment formats depend heavily on birth dates (commonly a 31 August cut-off).

💰 Debentures & Capital Levies: Understanding priority options, transferability, and fee structures early prevents unexpected surprises.
