We were delighted to welcome to our offices the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens FDI Moot Team, who participated in the FDI Moot 2025 international arbitration competition: Maria-Anna Georgiou, Anna Anastasia Boutou and Elvira Logothetidi.

At the Global Rounds in Boston, the team secured 2nd place worldwide, along with notable individual distinctions, including 2nd and 3rd place rankings for Elvira Logothetidi and Maria-Anna Georgiou respectively.

This outstanding achievement was the result of the team’s hard work and dedication, supported by the guidance of Professor of International Law Anastasios Gourgourinis and lawyers Maria Paschou and Vasilina Stamatopoulou.

Supporting young legal professionals and academic excellence remains an important part of our firm’s culture, and we warmly congratulate the team on these remarkable achievements.

We would like to thank our clients for their trust and cooperation, as well as everyone in our team who contributed to this successful outcome.

Some Sundays are meant for rest. Others remind us of the impact we can create when we come together for a common goal.

In collaboration with the Athanasios C. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation in the context of its environmental programme "Cyclone Project", our people participated in an environmental clean-up initiative at the Kononeian Walls in Piraeus, a unique coastal archaeological site of significant historical value. 🌀

Equipped with gloves and a shared sense of purpose, we contributed in a simple yet meaningful way to the protection and care of our local environment.

Small collective actions can have a lasting impact, and we’re grateful to everyone who participated in this initiative.

📢 Respect – Protect – Preserve: a shared responsibility towards our environment.

At the 6th Energy Law Conference, organised by NOMIKI BIBLIOTHIKI, discussions once again highlighted how rapidly the energy sector is reshaping both regulatory thinking and market practice.

Our partner Valia Apostolopoulou contributed to the discussion with a focused intervention on CO₂ storage and carbon credits, outlining their growing role beyond compliance into structured, financeable instruments.

Her remarks reflected a clear shift in perspective: carbon is increasingly being treated not only as a regulatory obligation, but as an emerging asset class within the energy transition.

Thank you to Nomiki Bibliothiki for the organization and to all participants for their valuable contributions.

On 30 April 2026, the European Commission published its Draft Merger Guidelines, representing a major reform of the EU merger control framework.

The Draft Guidelines consolidate the 2004 Horizontal and 2008 Non-Horizontal Merger Guidelines into a single framework, introducing a broader, more dynamic approach to merger assessment. Key developments include recognition of scale-enhancing mergers as procompetitive, an "Innovation Shield" for small innovative companies, a structured "theory of benefit" for efficiencies, and expanded theories of harm covering innovation, labour markets, and foreclosure.
