Avoid any disputes in the future

Can UK employers insist staff only speak English at work?

A recent Employment Tribunal says no.

An employee was found to have suffered racial discrimination after being told not to speak Swahili during his lunchbreak at work. The Tribunal highlighted that such restrictions can be discriminatory and employers must be careful with workplace language policies.
