On Sunday, Clevedon took on Odd Down (Bath) in the Somerset County Women's Football League Battens Cup Final. ⚽🏆

It was a fantastic match, showcasing great skill, determination and healthy competition from both teams throughout. Congratulations to Clevedon Town Football Club on their victory!

Battens is proud to support the Somerset Women's Football League and help champion equal opportunities within football. The league continues to go from strength to strength, and it is wonderful to see the growing support for women's football across the region.

A huge well done to everyone involved, from the players and coaches to the volunteers and supporters who made the event such a success. 👏

Congratulations to Chartered Legal Executive Emma Taylor, who celebrates her 10th year at Battens Solicitors!

Emma is a dedicated member within our Residential Conveyancing department based in Yeovil and has helped countless clients buy and sell properties over her decade with us.

Emma said, "I can’t believe I am celebrating 10 years at Battens! In many ways it has flown by but when I think back to my first day all those years ago, I was relatively fresh from college, at the very start of my career as a Conveyancing Assistant whilst I was studying with CILEX. I then progressed to Paralegal before eventually qualifying to become a Chartered Legal Executive so it feels like I have grown up here. Battens have really supported me throughout and shaped who I am today.

I have learnt so much whilst working here and celebrated lots of milestones both professionally and personally. There have been a lot of ups and downs along the way, but when I look back, I have 10 years full of happy memories with my colleagues. I have made friends for life and been lucky to work alongside so many lovely people, so I am very grateful.

I am excited to continue to progress in my career and look forward to the next 10 years ahead."

🎪 Melplash Show 2026... what a fantastic day!

It was great to meet so many people from Bridport and the wider community, and to showcase Battens Solicitors alongside colleagues from our Bridport and Dorchester offices.

We were also delighted to sponsor the showjumping competition. Congratulations to all who took part, and especially to the winner! 🏆

Battens Charitable Trust is proud to have donated £240 towards venue hire at Westlands for the Yeovil Singing for Lung Health Group.

The group supports people living with respiratory conditions such as COPD, asthma and bronchiectasis through weekly sessions that combine singing, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques in a friendly and supportive setting.

Our grant will help the group continue delivering its 8-week programme, giving local people practical ways to manage their condition, improve wellbeing and reduce feelings of isolation.

We're delighted to support such a positive initiative within our community.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive and reach their potential.

That's why Battens Charitable Trust was delighted to donate £200 to Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity, supporting its valuable work across Somerset, Dorset and surrounding areas.

Through specialist dyslexia assessments, consultations, tuition and coaching, the charity helps children, young people and adults better understand their strengths, overcome challenges and build confidence. The funding will also help make services more accessible to families on lower incomes and support specialist teacher training in local schools.

We're proud to play a small part in helping the charity continue supporting individuals with dyslexia throughout our local communities.
