A bit about me…..

My names Louise and I’m an accredited family mediator and solicitor. I have worked in family law for over 20 years, with the last five years focused on mediation.

I’ve also been through divorce and separation myself, so I understand that when relationships break down it’s not just about the legal side of things, it affects every part of life, especially when children are involved.

I’m mum to two daughters and stepmum to two stepdaughters, so I know first hand the challenges of coparenting, blended families and trying to navigate difficult situations whilst keeping children at the centre of things.

My approach to mediation is down to earth, supportive and non judgemental. I want people to feel comfortable talking openly and to leave mediation feeling calmer, clearer and more able to move forward.

Because I’m self-employed, I can also be flexible with appointments and work around people’s lives where possible, because family life rarely fits neatly into office hours!

Mediation doesn’t have to feel intimidating. Sometimes having the right space and support to communicate differently can make a huge difference.

If you’re separating and want to explore mediation, feel free to message me.

“I don’t want to share my quality time with the children”

This is something often said in mediation, and underneath it is usually fear, loss and worry about change.

Parents are not usually saying they do not want the other parent involved.
They are often saying:

“I’m scared of losing my bond with my children.”

“I don’t know what my role looks like now.”

“I’m frightened things will never feel the same again.”

In family mediation, creating space for those conversations matters.
When people feel heard rather than judged, conflict can begin to reduce and discussions can become more child-focused and constructive.

Mediation is not about taking sides.
It is about helping parents move from positions to understanding, and helping families make workable arrangements that prioritise children’s wellbeing.

What is mediation??

Mediation helps resolve financial and children disputes post separation. People think of solicitors and court when going through divorce and separation and don’t often know that mediation can be a good alternative to long, expensive and stressful Court proceedings.

Mediation helps resolve financial and children issues in much calmer way to reduce conflict and arrive at an outcome you both agree with.
