“Helpful, patient, and informative - responds in good time”

Clear, timely advice matters — especially when decisions affect the people closest to you.

Delaying a Lasting Power of Attorney does not just affect you. It can place a significant burden on your family at a time when they are already dealing with uncertainty.

Without one in place, those closest to you may face delays, difficult decisions, and legal processes at the very moment they are trying to support you.

Putting an LPA in place is not just about planning ahead — it is about making things easier for the people you trust most.

If you would like to discuss putting an LPA in place, speak directly with a solicitor.

Free initial consultation available.

Supporting the next generation 🏉

We’re proud to be part of the sponsorship team alongside West Lancashire Sport Partnership supporting our mate, Super Sam Cowley, as he begins the new season with Orrell St. James Golds in Wigan.

For many of us, the values learned on grassroots rugby pitches stay with us long after the final whistle — teamwork, resilience, discipline, and respect.

They’re the same values that guide the way we work with our clients every day.

As a firm with strong connections to Widnes, Wigan, and the surrounding area, it’s important to us to support local clubs and the young people who represent them.

We wish Sam and the whole team the very best of luck for the season ahead.

Monday Mention 🐾 📸

Our “office dog” paid a visit to Laurels Veterinary Surgery recently, and we’re pleased to report he’s back to supervising the office again.

A big thank you to the team at Laurels for looking after him so well — it’s great to have such a caring and professional veterinary practice locally.

Supporting local businesses that take pride in what they do is something we’re always happy to highlight.

Many charities offer “free Will” schemes, often encouraging supporters to leave a gift in their Will.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to support a cause that matters to you. Charitable legacies can make a real difference.

However, your Will should first reflect your wishes, your family circumstances, and your overall estate position.

Supporting a charity and receiving independent legal advice are not mutually exclusive. You can still leave a charitable gift while ensuring your Will is properly drafted and tailored to you.

If you would like to review your existing Will or discuss putting one in place, speak directly with a solicitor.

Free initial consultation available.

After a road traffic accident, you are often referred to an insurer’s preferred law firm.

That doesn’t always mean you’ll deal with a solicitor. It can mean being placed into a system.

For some people, that works.

For others — especially those who need communication handled carefully — it doesn’t.

A recent neurodiverse client thanked us for adapting the way we managed her claim to suit her needs.

That should be normal.

At Daniel Taylor Solicitors, you deal directly with a solicitor. We adapt to you — not the other way around.

If you’ve been placed with a preferred firm and feel like just another file reference, you are entitled to choose your own solicitor — or transfer your case.

We are pleased to share that Daniel Taylor Solicitors now have offices based at Kingsway House, Widnes.

While we continue to act for clients nationally, having a permanent base in Widnes is important to us. Local reputation matters. Personal connection matters. Being accessible matters.

This move represents the next step in building a solicitor-led firm that prioritises quality service, professional advice, and honesty in everything we do.

We would like to thank Business Lodge Widnes for their support in making this move possible. Their professionalism and assistance throughout the process made the transition smooth and straightforward.

If you would like to arrange an appointment, please feel free to get in touch.

Lots of people start personal injury claims on their own — and that’s okay. But what happens when that offer of settlement arrives?

You might know what the claim is worth to you, but the important question is whether the offer is fair and reasonable.

Accept too quickly, and you could settle for less than you deserve.
Reject an offer that’s already reasonable, and it can affect what happens next.

That’s where the right advice really matters.

In this case, once we reviewed the offer, the defendant doubled it — simply because it wasn’t right first time.

Before you accept or reject an offer, speak to someone who can help you get it right.
