As technology grows, so do concerns around the potential for covert recording, voyeurism and sexual abuse.

But does existing law provide enough protection when technology makes it possible to record without someone knowing?

In a recent article, child abuse paralegal, Hannah Hodgson, explores the legal and safeguarding questions raised by smart glasses, the potential risks and what organisations should be considering now.

September is Sepsis Awareness Month.

Sepsis is a life-threatening medical emergency where early diagnosis and treatment is vital. However, delays in recognising symptoms, investigating infection or providing appropriate treatment can have devastating consequences.

Graduate solicitor apprentice, Harry Aukett, explores the signs and causes of sepsis along with common failings in diagnosis that far too often leave a long-term impact on sepsis patients and their families.

We hope this blog helps raise awareness of sepsis, the importance of recognising the warning signs and the need for timely treatment.

Negligent driving can change lives in an instant.

Our serious injury and brain injury teams are representing two clients who sustained life-changing injuries in a road traffic collision in Huddersfield.

Their claims, which are ongoing, arise from an incident in which another drive drove through a red light at high speed before colliding with their vehicle.

Supporting the clients throughout the claims process, our teams are working towards securing compensation that reflects the significant impact of the collision and ensuring they get access to the rehabilitation, specialist treatment and ongoing support they need both now and in the future.

Delays in diagnosis and access to specialist care can have serious consequences for patients.

A recent HSSIB investigation has raised concerns about the NHS Advice and Guidance system, finding evidence that issues with its implementation may have contributed to delays, missed diagnoses and serious harm.

In Clare Thompson's recent article, our medical negligence team looks at the findings, the potential risks for patients and when a delayed referral could amount to medical negligence.

Few things cause more family tension after a death than the discovery of a secret relationship.

But does an affair or previously unknown partner actually affect who inherits?

While infidelity itself doesn’t change inheritance rights, it can raise questions about a will, undue influence, financial dependency and what the deceased really intended.

Find out the reality of how these cases are dealt with in Kelsey Jones' recent article.

For many survivors of childhood abuse, one of the biggest concerns about pursuing a legal claim is confidentiality.

Understandably, these concerns around exposing personal details often prevent survivors from seeking legal advice.

Thankfully, seeking justice doesn't mean giving up your privacy. Associate solicitor, Samantha Follows, hopes to raise awareness of the protections in place that provide confidentiality throughout every claim.
