💜 A Fantastic Morning at Mediation Matters 💜

A huge thank you and congratulations to Shelley Wales and Lindsey Hall for delivering a fantastic Mediation Matters: Breakfast at The Art House event, attended by over 20 professionals.

Together, Shelley and Lindsey delivered an insightful and engaging session exploring Child Inclusive Mediation and Lawyer Supported Mediation, helping attendees gain a greater understanding of the options available to families navigating separation and dispute resolution.

The session covered how children's voices can be safely and appropriately included in the mediation process, the benefits of solicitor-supported mediation in more complex cases, and how mediation can offer a constructive alternative to, or complement, court proceedings.

The feedback has been incredibly positive, and we're proud of both Shelley and Lindsey for sharing their expertise, facilitating thoughtful discussions, and creating such a valuable learning opportunity for everyone who attended.

Lisa joins us with previous conveyancing experience gained at both Fox Hayes Solicitors and Walker Morris, bringing with her a strong knowledge of residential conveyancing, as well as experience in marketing and business development. 🎓 Investing in Learning and Development 🎓

Last week, members of our team from across a range of departments attended a training session at Wakefield Exchange, delivered by Kristopher Kilsby of Peak Costs.

The session covered a number of important topics, including retainers, hourly rates and cost estimates, the importance of comprehensive file notes, invoicing, and a valuable case law update. It provided a great opportunity to revisit key areas of practice and reinforce the importance of accurate record keeping and compliance.

Whilst many of these topics form part of our day-to-day work, ongoing training is essential to ensure we continue to deliver the highest standards of service to our clients. The session highlighted how attention to detail and best practice can make a significant difference, both for our clients and the firm.

A huge thank you to Kristopher Kilsby for delivering such an informative and engaging session. The knowledge shared was greatly appreciated by everyone who attended and will undoubtedly prove valuable across the firm. 💜

"We normally go to a larger solicitors for all our services but due to the other buyer being the executor we needed to find another solicitor. I did what I usually do and asked on Facebook for advice and Thornton Jones came up as a good local solicitor for house moves, so we connected with them.

We had quite a complicated house move with probate taking much longer than expected and lots of miscommunications with the executor also being the solicitor from the other firm. But Anna and Olivia dealt with them all in a calm, reassuring way.

I would not hesitate to recommend them for house moves, their knowledge and expertise was incredible and reassuring. Making sure that every little detail was checked off before willing to proceed. I really hope not to move again, but I would certainly use again if I am crazy enough to attempt it!
