The Best Gift Your Child Will Never Think to Ask For.
As parents most of us would do anything to protect our children.
We help them with school fees, driving lessons, first cars, university rent, job applications… we tackle the clothes washing pile without a blink when they come home from Uni.
But there is something you wont be able to help with once they turn 18, and most parents don't even know it.
Imagine your child is in an accident or becomes seriously ill and loses capacity, whether temporarily or permanently. In that case, you will no longer have the automatic right to make decisions on their behalf.
Not about their treatment, not about their finances, not even about their living arrangements.
You're legally locked out.
Unless they have a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) in place.
Powers of Attorney aren't just for elderly relatives. They're about protecting fit, healthy young adults who think they're invincible until life reminds them otherwise. And when it does, the parents are left helpless, watching from the sidelines, trying to advocate for a child they no longer have legal control over, while courts and bureaucracy take control.
Let that sink in.
No matter how loving or involved you are as a parent, you will not be able to manage their bank account to pay rent, tuition, credit cards, etc. You will not be able to challenge housing decisions. You'll have to apply to the Court of Protection, a slow, costly, and emotionally draining process.
Imagine the solution:
There is no red tape, no court delays, just love, care, and the legal ability to do what's needed for your children.
That's why establishing LPAS with your child might be the best present they'll ever receive, even if they don't realise it yet.
It's not something they'll ask for.
It won't go viral on TikTok.
But it will protect them when it matters most, just in case.

We have helped thousands of parents and young adults set up powers of attorney. Would it be a crazy idea to protect you and your loved ones?
