One common myth we hear is that tenant screening is just about credit scores❌

In reality, it’s much more than that.

A proper screening process looks at the full picture, including:
✔️ Income verification and affordability checks✔️ Employment confirmation✔️ Previous landlord references✔️ Identity and address verification✔️ Credit history and CCJ searches✔️ Bankruptcy and insolvency checks

Looking at all these factors together helps landlords and agents make more informed, lower-risk decisions when choosing tenants.

Landlords 👋 quick heads up!

With changes coming in under the Renters Rights Act on the 1st May 2026, it’s really important you make sure your tenants have been given the correct Government “How to Rent” information sheet.

If this isn’t provided, it could lead to fines of up to £7,000, so it’s definitely worth double-checking your paperwork now.

This is coming into focus from 1st May, with everything needing to be in place by 31st May.

It’s a small admin task, but an important one to keep you compliant and avoid any issues down the line 📄✔️

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us!

Professional tenant screening costs less than 1% of what a problematic tenancy can end up costing😅

Proper screening helps identify reliable tenants from the start, reducing the risk of missed rent, property damage, and costly legal issues. It also gives landlords greater confidence that their property is being placed in safe hands, with checks carried out on affordability, background, and overall suitability.

It also benefits tenants by creating a smoother, more transparent process, reducing uncertainty and stress, and helping ensure they are matched with a property that is genuinely suitable and affordable for them.

A small upfront investment in screening can save significant time, stress, and financial loss later down the line, helping ensure a smoother, more secure tenancy from day one.
