Banstead Business Guild We are an association of businesses and business people who have an interest in the ongoing success and improvement of Banstead High Street, Surrey.

We are a newly formed association of businesses and business people who all have an interest in the ongoing success and improvement of Banstead High Street. We meet bi-monthly at a local venue, with the local councillor as chair of the group, to discuss issues ranging from how to spend funding and Christmas lights to future improvements and local events. Meetings are friendly and informal with the

opportunity for members to network with each other and find out more about other local businesses. We have a membership that covers a wide variety of sectors that all combine to make our High Street a vibrant place. We have supermarkets, clothing retail, delicatessens, accounts, solicitors, creative agencies, jewellers, natural therapies, business efficiency consultants, financial advisers, tradesmen, insurance brokers to name just some of our membership. In addition to this we also have the residents association, local rotary club and local sports clubs represented also. It is with deepest regret that owing to lack of support, the committee of the Banstead Business guild have agreed to disband.

The main consequences of this is Banstead will no longer have Christmas lights nor will we be able to have a Christmas event. However the Rotary Club will still be supplying a Christmas tree with lights.

Other local groups are looking at what, if anything can be done.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us and those who have worked hard for our lovely village over the last 7 years.

It is going to be a lovely weekend so why not go along and pick your own lavender at this not for profit community event this weekend.

The site is situated at Stanley Road Allotments (not to be confused with any other commercial fields).

All money raised over the weekend goes back into the project to keep this wonderful heritage lavender.
