Welcome to the WHCC Watch House was the fifth club to join the Federation of Bridgewater Cruising Clubs.

The Watch House Cruising Club, is on the towpath side of the Bridgewater Canal between Dane Road bridge and Edge Lane bridge in Stretford, Greater Manchester, it was founded in 1964 and has grown in size over the years. It operates a full cruising programme throughout the year with many weekend cruises and attendance at various rallies during the season. When not out cruising, the clubrooms and ba

r are open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings 19.30-23.30 as well as Sunday afternoons 12.00-19.00 to all passing boaters. The Watch House is the oldest building in Stretford, also the oldest on the canal and was, in fact, here before the canal was built. In those days it was a farm building but since then it has had a chequered history as stables for canal horses, as a coffin store, saddle manufacturing, cottages and now our club premises. Gradually the members have improved the building and upgraded the facilities. The major improvments undertaken over the past few years have been the extension into the old stable block, which has been turned into a concert room with a stage and a refit to the kitchen area. Apart from the bar, the services available are toilets, water, Elsan disposal, overnight moorings and a fund of help and advice from our many long serving members. On the 2nd May, 8pm, WHCC are holding their first vinyl night hosted by Morgan, all we need is you!

PLEASE RING OR WHATSAPP MORGAN ON 07799067934 IF YOU WANT TO DJ ON THE NIGHT TO ARRANGE A SLOT.

The nights an opportunity to play your favourite records from your vinyl collection in a 30- minute DJ set, whether you have experience or not.

It's not just for those who want to delve into the world of DJing but for those to come, enjoy and support the night too. So whether you bring your vinyls or your dancing shoes, the night won't happen without you!

Calling out to all you music and Vinyl lovers. If your interested let us know, leave us a comment.

We are thinking about doing a WHCC Vinyl night, hosted by the lovely Morgan. This will involve you amazing members and supporters (or anyone you might think is interested) old and new to the club.

If you have Vinyls and want to share your love of them, the evening would consist of 30 minute DJ sets for the selected people allocated to a time. If you can’t play the decs, that doesn’t matter, you’ll be guided through your set and live the dream!
If you don’t have vinyls we need supporter’s to come and enjoy the combination of music the night would bring.
There would be a small entrance fee that would go to the organiser and host of the event.

A massive thank you to all of you who have sponsored and helped Chris, Jimmy and Frank achieve 152% of their £500 target in support of Alzheimer’s Society. We are currently at £761, and not stopping here. If you haven’t already donated, please help us hit 200% of our target for such a amazing cause that requires charity support from events like this.

The shave will happen at WHCC on Sunday 21st December at 5pm and we will be asking for a £2 admission, all of which will be added on to the donations made for a fantastic cause Alzheimer’s Society. If you haven’t already sponsored them, your support would be massively appreciated.
