New help-to-buy scheme set to be announced.

Further information expected as part of the Budget announcement on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

Under the proposed ‘Your First Home’ scheme it’s suggested that first-time buyers will get a 20% equity loan to help them buy a new-build home, with an initial interest free period and a requirement of a minimum deposit of just 2.5%.

Household income caps and a deposit cap will be introduced, with the scheme being targeted at those who may struggle to buy a home on their own.

This is very positive news for first-time buyers, offering much-needed support to make that exciting first step onto the property ladder!
