We were delighted to host our quarterly networking event at Potbank in Stoke-on-Trent, with a great turnout from across the local business community.

We would just like to thank the QUARTER at Potbank and show off this lovely venue. Everything was set and ready to go ahead of a busy evening, with a fantastic venue and plenty of pizza to keep everyone fuelled as the event filled with conversation, new connections, and familiar faces.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such an enjoyable and worthwhile event.

It was a pleasure to spend the evening with the UHNM Charity at Keele University the other night, celebrating 10 years of their pioneering work in surgical robotics. Hearing directly from surgeons and patients about the real, life-changing impact this technology has had was both fascinating and inspiring.

It’s remarkable to see how innovation in healthcare continues to transform outcomes and improve lives, and events like this are a powerful reminder of the people, stories, and dedication behind that progress.

Thank you to everyone involved for the warm welcome and for such an engaging evening, we were delighted to be part of the celebration.

The RJS Foundation was proud to support Tales in the Park this August, sponsoring storyteller Gav at Burslem Park.

This fantastic series of summer festivals, organised by the National Literacy Trust in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent Libraries and YMCA North Staffordshire, brings stories to life across our city’s parks. With storytelling, sports, crafts and circus skills the events inspire children to enjoy reading and encourage families to share stories together all year round. Every child also goes home with a free book.

It was a pleasure for our chair, Cllr Abi Brown to pop along and join in the fun. We’re delighted to have played a part in such a positive community event that celebrates creativity, learning and togetherness.

We are delighted to share the launch of RJS Solicitors’ first Vacation Scheme, designed to give university students genuine, hands-on experience of life in a busy SME boutique law firm.

The four day programme has been created by Rhiannon Appleby and Max Hughes. It offers an immersive introduction to the four key areas of law we specialise in: corporate, dispute resolutiom, private client and real estate.

Each day of the scheme focuses on a different discipline, supported by a document pack featuring real-life scenarios taken from our day-to-day work. Wherever possible, students are also given the opportunity for client contact, offering a practical and authentic insight into the legal profession.

We were delighted to welcome our first students, Nathan Maude and Amber Loforte, onto the scheme this summer. Here’s what they had to say:

“During my time, I have gained insight into the legal profession, observed the day-to-day work of a busy law firm and had the chance to learn directly from experienced solicitors. The exposure to real cases and client meetings has supported my passion for pursuing a legal career.” – Nathan Maude

“Over the course of the scheme, I had the opportunity to get involved in a range of tasks across corporate, litigation, private client, residential and commercial property work. I also had the chance to sit in on some private client meetings, which gave me valuable exposure to how client relationships are managed in practice. This experience has strengthened my passion for law, and I’m excited to continue building on what I’ve learned.” – Amber Loforte

The feedback has been fantastic, and we are proud to be playing a part in helping the next generation of lawyers gain meaningful experience at the start of their careers.
