Welcome to The Eric Whitehead Partnership
The Eric Whitehead Partnership’s roots can be traced back to the 1950s when Eric W B Whitehead established the practice Eric Whitehead & Co in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire. In the 1960s, branch offices were opened in Stone, Staffordshire and in Cheadle, Staffordshire.
The Eric Whitehead Partnership was founded in May 2000 by Nicolas John and Timothy Halliday, both of whom had been the resident Partners at the Cheadle branch of Eric Whitehead & Co for many years.
In November 2003, Nicholas J John joined the Partnership, having spent four years working at litigation practices in the City of London, and he was made a Partner in 2004 and then a Director in 2005 when the firm changed its status from that of a Partnership to that of a Limited Company. In August 2009, Elizabeth Collins (formerly Halliday) joined the Partnership as a Trainee Solicitor, qualifying in 2011. Elizabeth was made a Director in 2015. Nicola Robinson was appointed as a director in 2019. The Directors are assisted by Kevin J Bowden, a Conveyancing Executive who joined the Cheadle branch of Eric Whitehead & Co in 1976 and by Lisa Allbutt, a Conveyancing specialist who joined us in 2019.
In January 2006, The Partnership joined a select group of law firms to be awarded The Law Society’s Lexcel standard. Lexcel is the Law Society’s practice management standard and is only awarded to firms which meet the highest management and customer care standards. Lexcel accredited practices undergo a rigorous independent assessment every year to ensure they meet required standards of excellence in areas such as client care, case management and risk management.
