Meet Samantha Smith, Regional Lettings Director at Julian Wadden. 👋🏻
It’s time to get to know Samantha beyond her role in lettings. We asked her a few quick-fire questions about her career, what she loves about the local area and a few things you might not know about her.
What’s something people are always surprised to learn about you? 💍
That I eloped and got married in Beverly Hills, which is probably a little less predictable.
Have you completed anything on your bucket list? ⛸️
Quite a few travel ones! Ice skating in Central Park at Christmas, vineyard tours in Napa Valley, eating pasta overlooking the Colosseum, honeymooning in Bali and attending a Texas rodeo are a few favourites… There are plenty more on the list!
If you weren’t working in property, what do you think you’d be doing? 👩🏼⚖️
Probably something in law. I enjoy getting into the details, questioning things and working through problems, which suits my natural way of working.
What’s your favourite hidden gem in the area? 🍝
I’m not sure Piccolino’s can quite be called a hidden gem, but it is definitely one of my local favourite spots. Whether it’s Manchester, Hale or Didsbury, if I’m choosing an Italian, that’s usually where I’m heading.
What originally attracted you to a career in property? 🏡
I started in property at 18, and it was completely intentional. I applied for estate agency roles, hoping someone would take a chance on me, and luckily they did! I loved it from day one and genuinely never looked back. Over the years I’ve worked across different locations, markets and roles, from lettings and administration through to sales, but lettings has always been where my real passion sits. I’m naturally a problem solver; I love the pace of the industry, and I’ve always been spurred on by competition and progression.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? 💬
“You must first become consistent to then become exceptional.” Success rarely comes from one big moment; it comes from repeatedly doing the basics well, holding yourself to a high standard and building from there.
