Hello everyone!
Below is a message from the Head Representative for the Southampton SolidariTee Team! They are a student-led charity who help support legal aid for those who need if!

---------------------------------------------------

Hi everyone!
Are you looking to make an impact on campus this academic year & join a community of amazing student activists at the same time? Apply now to join the SolidariTee Southampton team!

SolidariTee is an international organisation fighting for sustainable change in the refugee “crisis” by providing grants to NGOs who work on legal aid for refugees and asylum seekers. Via our national and regional social medias, we also work to dispel harmful misinformation about refugees and the asylum process, and to raise awareness about global refugee issues. But our core work takes place on regional campuses: last year we had SolidariTee regional teams at over 60 universities worldwide. These teams are led by Head Representatives like myself and an executive committee of Events Co-Ordinators and Publicity Officers, as well as a team of Regional Representatives. The teams work to host awareness- and fundraising events on campus throughout the year, as well as to sell our unique SolidariTees. These t-shirts are a visible show of solidarity: they’re sustainably and ethically produced, and feature artwork by refugees and asylum seekers.

This opportunity would be especially of interest to students wanting to pursue a careers in law, human rights, humanitarian aid, or politics, but we welcome applications from all subjects and interests!

In my experience it's such a rewarding community to be part of so apply now or drop me a message with any questions!

Hey everyone, just a quick message to help promote the UN’s 17 goals for sustainable development which the charitable and enterprise societies on campus try to contribute to.

Goal 16 of the UN’s 17 goals for sustainable development focuses on promoting peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, ensuring justice is provided for all and to build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.

Lawyers Without Borders work very hard and feel very strongly in helping to achieve these aims. Lawyers Without Borders Southampton Student Division is just a small but important part in helping to achieve this mission.

As part of the society we hold many events aimed not only to achieve these goals but also to raise awareness of human rights to ensure that everyone regardless of where they come from and the resources they have access to are protected by advancing the rule of law.
Events we hold to aid in this goal:
• Human Rights Debate Competition
• Pro-bono Legal Research and Fundraising in Promotion of the Rule of Law
• Human Rights Lectures

If you would like to get involved in the society and attend some of the events that we hold, feel free to contact us on either our Facebook or Instagram page or just go straight to SUSU online for a free membership!
